I hope Quinn's acting skills have gotten better because while I love him as a foe, last year he annoyed the sh*t out of me. If he says "buddy" one more time I hope Dex slits his throat.

I love that it is starting off where it ended. I love that Dexter looks like he's becoming an actual monster. I'm just fearful that this is setting up a series final season. I hope not.

Season 4 was about Trinity and the cat and mouse while dexter realizing he may become trinity and that inner struggle for him to say I am not him...I won't end up where he is.

I think this season won't feature an antagonist. It'll be more similar to Dexter dodging heat...while balancing his completely new and unplanned family life. I'm sure he'll end up enlightened and in the clear...which will set up another season where he has another antagonist.

I'm excited for this season though because it's all about him...his character has to make some critical choices that he hasn't really faced before, this is a huge season for dex's character development.

With the direction of the show it makes more sense to have his adversary be a cop rather than another killer. Blowing off suspicion and just going on as usual would be kind of silly so it makes the most sense. It's just too bad Lundy is dead.

Season 4 showed him losing his cool. Punching the neighbor, going a little insane when he was in the jail cell. It looks like this is just growing. Which is why it seems to me that Dex is becoming more and more of the monster he is. I love where this is heading if that is the case.

Season 4 over here will air in November (with one episode each day) and my colleague hasn't seen the last three episodes, while I have seen the complete season 4 on US iTunes. Damn, she will be annoyed when I tell her she can't check out the season 5 trailer.
I already told her not to watch the last episode cause it would be too much to handle. Which makes her wanting to see it even more of course.

It is. I've watched the first 5 episodes. I had a game last night, so i didn't get to watch any, but i'm planning on knocking out a couple more tonight after the Yanks.

Some of my favorite scenes are in Season 4. When Dex is posing as Kyle Butler and watches Trinity go sick on his son. Dex drags him by the neck into the kitchen and grabs the huge knife and says "I should have killed you while I had the chance". Also, when he gets locked up for losing it on a cop, that entire exchange with Harry is amazing. I think the best from Season 1 is when he sits down with the initial Ice Truck suspect and he walks in, looks at Dexter and says "Who the f*ck are you?" Then Dex just smiles that creepy ass smile he has. I love it when he breaks the 4th wall.

Dude Trinity scared the sh*t outta me. I think it was one of the few times I've ever been honestly scared of a human bad guy.

Was it the creepy music and the train set? My opinion on the brutality of Trinity and his cycle was drastically changed when the 4th part was introduced. I was actually pretty taken back by it.

I just saw the trailer the other day I cannot wait. The worst thing about the show was both Rita and the fact that she hadn't been murdered in a bathtub as of yet. Along came Trinity to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm trying to figure out where Trinity could have scheduled the bathtub incident. Seriously, I've watched the season finale like 500 times and it just doesn't add up. And it had to align for him perfectly, who knew Rita was going to forget and have to come back home? Unless he set it up earlier. Say after he confronted Dex about staying out of his life at the precinct.

4 over 2?? 4 was with Smits, if I recall. I thought that season was pretty bad. I didn't believe Smits's character arc at all.

re: seasons 2 & 4 Getting rid of Lundy was a mistake. He was a perfect foil for Dexter. Unfortunately, the whole Lundy/Deb relationship totally played itself out.

I totally agree!! Lundy was one of the best characters in the series and I was pissed. I don't mind the sporadic killing off of main characters, I think they have a lot of balls for doing it. But he was one I was truly disappointed in.

I've been hoping since season 2 that a little Brian Moser haunting would come back. Kind of like the anti-Harry. I know Dex moved on, but I think his normal composed and level-headed disposition is getting compromised, it showed in pieces season 3, more in 4, and now the trailer in 5 looks like he's losing it completely. Perfect timing for Biney to make an appearance like the devil on Dex's shoulder.

After rewatching season 1 again, Brian Moser is becoming one of my favorite villains of all time. The guy was absolutely sadistic, and brilliant. The psychological game he played with Dexter was amazing, from the pictures in his photo album, to the nail polish on his mother's fingernails, to the blood bath in the hotel room. Just so amazing. The conversation with Deb he had on the boat... "I never wanted to hurt you" "I know" "Does this make you feel better because I can keep going" I love it.
