    Big Brother Season 12

    Okay folks,

Another summer, another season of Big Brother is upon us.

Catch Season 12 every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8 PM ET/PT on CBS.

Also, catch Big Brother: After Dark three hours after the show on Showtime 2.

As a reminder, please no BB live feeds posts. Only within the CBS shows.

    Thanks

Good work BB55. Not sure If I like the "saboteur" angle...a bit too much like the America's Player thing from a couple years ago, which I felt screwed up the game. Still, looking forward to it.

Kristen, Annie & Rachel look like the only reasons to watch this year. I hate reality shows but I always manage to get somewhat sucked in to this one. I really hate that it's on 3 nights a week.

Me too. I love this show but I'm not 100% sure why.

As for the saboteur, I'm not sure how I feel about it. If it is going to be like America's Player where the audience votes and stuff for them then I don't like it. It takes away from people being underhanded and getting away with it because America can see it all. If it is just going to be that the saboteur plays pranks and spreads rumors then I'm ok with that. The houseguests are going to know that one of the people is the saboteur so maybe the saboteur won't vote.

I guess they need to come up with fresh ideas. After 12 seasons, it's kind of hard not to keep repeating stuff. But most of the time, the houseguests manage to create their own drama, anyway.

Can we all agree that the worst part of the show is no-talent-but-married-the-head-of-CBS-so-she-needs-to-be-on-TV Julie Chen?

Not me. I actually like her. I'm so used to her hosting, it wouldn't be right without the Chen-bot.

Well, let's hope Alison Grodner and TPTB at Big Brother do a way better job making the show interesting with the 'saboteur' twist and stop recycling the same old twist (i.e. America's player) and stuff.

Survivor and the Amazing Race are way beyond the stratosphere in terms of taking their show to the next levels.

    Me too.

We recently started watching channel 2 news (CBS) in the mornings, and I didn't realize she's a regular on that (I thought she only did the BB evicted houseguest interviews on the Early Show). It's funny listening to her. I keep thinking she's going to say something about one of the houseguests.

I honestly don't think I could watch her on anything else.

She's a pretty good sport too. She loves the Chen-bot nickname and whenever someone talks about her on the show, she laughs about it.

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 1 - InGame Play By Play 1st Period

Crowd filing inside the Reality TV Arena...

Hello and welcome to Episode 1 of Big Brother Season 12. I'm BroadwayBomber55.

Joel: And well, well, well. It is I, the quintessential studmuffin. Joel 'Bigger and better than the Titanic, because only 400 women went down on the Titanic' Gertner. Crowd chanting: GERTNER! GERTNER! GERTNER!

Another summer is here! Fasten your seatbelts and shine up your magic coup d'etat wands!

Joel: Oh, yeah. Bring the hamsters on!
Woohoo..........here we go! Let's see how long they can drag this out and how LITTLE of the game they will show us.

"But first" #1 of the season! Crowd chanting: BB12! BB12! BB12!

A BB fan in the front row wired for sound: I like Lane. bow tie boy is nerdy

Annie keeps saying the 'bi' status is a secret...but it was the first thing she said here and already mentioned on her pre-game questioning.

Joel: Monet is ANNOYING!!!!!! Hope Rachel last a long time!

Another BB fan in the front row: first impressions, I like Brendon, the swimmer.. why don't they all go in at the same time?

And another BB fan in the front row: ahhh... I'm infatuated with Lane. yummy.

I think Annie is the mole

A BB fan in the upper deck: I think I know 50 people named Enzo who look like this one...
    Yes I am from Jersey

Joel: How obvious that they're letting Monet in last just so she can have a big baby diva fit over her sleeping arrangements.

Don't much care for Rachael or her laugh. Rachel's laugh is going to start grating on my little nerves very quickly.

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 1 - InGame Play By Play 2nd Period

Joel: Please send the genius home. Anyone who constantly mentions they are a smart can become annoying very quickly.

Yeah, I snorted about the top 2 percentile. I'm top 2 percentile so I know first hand just how little that means.

Hayden and Kristen are being paired...so one of them will get with someone else.

A BB fan in the lower bowl seats: I LOVE Lane's accent. yummy

A BB fan in the sauna area: "Andrew wears a yom kippur -- I think that's what they're called!"
I already hate Rachel and Enzo.

Oooh, Kathy is going to have some fun screen shots with those big eyes. !!!

Another BB fan in the upper deck: Annie likes Jersey guys...I like her

Joel: how is being bi-sexual hurting you in this game?

That's my question. I guess that comes from being so self-absorbed that you think that you'll be able to convince everyone that you're trying to get in their pants and trying to work an angle?

Chenbot looks a little matronly in that red suit.
    Is she pregnant again?

Joel: yamulka is the little hat. Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement.

Uh oh......wardrobe gave Ragan the obligatory gray v-neck that all gay HGs wear in the DR.

A BB TV insider in the media gondola: I"m gonna guess that a lot of drama in the house is going to surround Rachel. While she may be the mole, she is quite irritating even if she wasn't.

We have a house full of liars!!! Crowd chanting: WHAT THE F? WHAT THE F? WHAT THE F?

Annie's DR imitating Enzo was funny

b4 Enzo even said it I knew the Jersey boy wouldn't like the saboteur.
Enzo better get out of the game before the rat has been outted or they will get it.

Joel: Good Lord... as with most all of BB's twists, the mole will probably get booted in week one.

    It's Brenden!!!!

    Joel: It could be Enzo

    Kristen didnt seem too surprised....

Joel: I think its Kristen. but could also be the Mensa dude or Annie... hmmm

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 1 - InGame Play By Play 3rd Period

Joel: Something about the cop's eyebrows is driving me mad!

A BB fan in the skybox seats: I think it's Matt. I hope it's NOT Annie, I'm not liking her at all....

Another BB fan in the skybox seats: I think Kristen. Second choice is Rachel. After hearing the distorted voice, I"m convinced its female..... those are my top two choices.

Joel: I think it's the brainiac but that might be too obvious.

I think it's Kathy or Kristen.

A BB fan in the Reality TV Bar and Grill: I think the mole is Monet.

Joel: I don't think Monet can spell mole. When will they reveal to us who the mole is? if anyone knows or will they let us know?

We'll probably learn something in one of the DR sessions like Coup d'Etat and America's Choice.

    Can you say paranoid? Heehee!

Another BB fan in the upper deck: I kind of like the police woman

None of these guys have a solid grasp on grammar, do they?

Kathy cracks me up! I see her being around till the end.

Joel: how did the other houseguests not realize this will happen??? Good move not being HOH

Andrew called Julie "JC". She may call him on that later. He's free from eviction this week.

Okay, let's see if the mole tries something here.

Joel: BB did a good job with the women this year...thumbs up!

Another BB fan in the front row: Andrew is the mole!

    Branden the mole?

A BB radio insider in the media gondola: I kind of like JC for Julie... When my students call me with names like that, it is a sign of respect

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 1 - InGame Play By Play Overtime

Britney falls on her back and yet her knee is hurt?

Joel: Is she hurt, or is she the mole?

Britney is the mole...I mean she has to know about the doctor'

I can't tell any of these blondes apart. They all pick up the same bottle in Target.

Joel: I am going for Brendon to win just because that is my sons name and they are spelled exactly the same...but I kinda think he may be the mole!!! !

She didn't look too darned hurt, but c'mon.. that would be a huge red flag to pull something that appears that obvious.
Ahh.. the replay looked a bit more possible. Her legs bent sideways.

Joel: Come on, hot dog boy ... pretend you've taken a cpr/first aid class and get in there and HELP. Plus, if she's the mole, you'll be able to tell if she's faking.

A BB TV color commentator in the media gondola: I think Kristen jumped on first and fell off intentionally, it wasn't covered in mustard or ketchup.. maybe so she wouldnt have the 10k hanging over her head, but also to prove she went for it which a mole might not do? or strategic move? something about her and the way she talks is fishy.

A BB TV play by play commentator in the media gondola: She did fall kinda funny

He's a podiatrist. Thats a foot dr right? not much of a savior in an emergency imo lol

I lost my dignity on a slippery weiner.

Joel: So did Britney get Kristin's money?

"I lost my dignity on a slippery weiner". .
    Quote of the season!

Stupid move yellow team---- she's more athletic than Monet

Hayden is first HOH! awww here comes all the ass kissing!!!

Joel: My favorite part of BB --- all the conspiring that goes on in the HoH room. Yay!!! Maybe this crew won't be as piggish as last year and they won't crunch directly into the mics.

A BB radio play by play commentator in the media gondola: Okay, so what's the point of this texting - "who is the saboteur?" It's not like they're going to text back and say "you're so smart" or "WTH are you thinking???"

A BB radio color commentator in the media gondola: I still wish ONLY the HOH could sleep in the room and watch the spy camera

I mean it looked bad but that doesn't mean she could have made it look more painful than it really was

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 1 - InGame Play By Play Shootout

Joel: "Ok, who was not there besides Brendon and Andrew?

"they must have done that when it was dark" SERIOUSLY? Ya think??? These girls are morons.

A popcorn vendor in the lower bowl seats: Rachel's laugh is annoying..and she looks familiar like I have seen her on another reality show

    Joel: It's over already! BOO!

I'm so confused. I think its Andrew now.

Doc has to be the mole, or a supreme idiot. Everyone is paranoid and you decide to play a prank-brilliant!

Joel: How soon before the find the Sabo-tour and the whole gimmick of the season falls flat on its face!?

I would be cool if there is no actual Sabo-tour inside the house and BB is just fooling players and viewers.

Well, one episode down and the most confusing one ever. Will the Sabo-teur and the mole twist blow up in Alison Grodner and BB's face?

    Find out this season.

    Episode 1 - BB55's Takes

Most confusing and head scratching episode ever.

I love the idea of the saboteur angle being a complete red herring. Watching them all try to figure out the identity of someone who doesn't actually exist would be delicious fun. It would also explain why they told the house guests ahead of time that a saboteur was in the house. I thought it was a little odd that they gave them that information so early in the game.

I think it maybe BB himself so that the HG will continue to think it is someone in the house and for good fights and conversation.

So far, I don't know who I like right now.

I can't believe it is over so fast after waiting SO long

I don't think I have ever laughed as much during a HOH competition (injury notwithstanding).
    It was classic.

My guess on the Saboteur is Matt. I have no idea why - just a hunch ...

That's a good guess. I hope it's not though because I saw his pre-show interview and he is a big fan of the show. I like when people who know the game play instead of the ones they seek out and recruit becuase they are good looking.

It is definitely not Andrew...they are trying too hard to make it seem like it's him.

    I'm new to Big Brother.

Have they ever done the saboteur before?

Also, the BB after dark on showtime, does that screw with continuity? I'm guessing the premier was filmed a few days ago....I've heard them referencing the first night a few times.

If that is the case, i'll probably stop watching BBAD. Although...it's going to be difficult to stop if the red head and the hot girl from Philly keep hitting up the hot tub in their bikinis.

I think the saboteur is a chick. My guess early in the episode was that it was the little blonde chick that ended up getting hurt, but now a sorta feel like that is too obvious.

It's possible there is no real saboteur, like BB55 suggested. But if there is, I think it's either Kristen or the cowboy guy. After being told about the saboteur, Kristen said something like 'lets not get suspicious of everyone now' and Lane just never opened his mouth at all, although it seems he doesn't talk much.

    Welcome to the BB addiction.

This is the first time they have had a saboteur, so to speak. One season, they had America's player, who was one of the house guests, nominated by the viewers. He had to perform tasks like hugging one of the guys for 10 seconds, tell a sad story...I can't remember the other things, and he had to vote the way America wanted him to vote, so that totally messed with his own game play several times. He won money for each task he successfully completed. He didn't start out as AP from the beginning, unlike the saboteur.

BBAD does screw up continuity but, damn, it's fun to watch! Basically you would find out things before it airs on the show (like who has been nominated, who won POV, was POV used). The only live show is on Thursday when they do eviction and HOH. For instance, if you watched you probaby know who was nominated for eviction but the episode that shows that won't air until Sunday.

This show is fantastic summer fun! Enjoy!

By the way, my money is on Kathy (the 40 year old cop) as the saboteur! It will be interesting to see if any of us is right. Everyone in the house thinks it's Andrew but I don't think it is.

If you are reading stuff on jokersupdates, they have some spoilers that think it is Andrew, but it's not confirmed.

I love, love, love jokersupdates and read it every day but I don't believe their spoilers. During The Amazing Race, JU had "spoilers" every week that had Jeff/Jordan being eliminated. Eventually they were right, halfway through the race.

I don't think Andrew is the saboteur.

I think he's just a socially akward guy that is trying to play the game and he's doing it in a ham-handed way.

I tried to read the expressions of the houseguests as Julie announced the saboteur twist. Kristen's response was a little tell-tale, but Lane had no response and has been very quiet after the announcement.

I was watching a little bit of After Dark from the first night. I wonder when the first show actually was taped, because from the sound of it, the HG's had been in the house for some time already and were mighty comfy with each other. They had talked about nominations and had already picked players for the PoV, but had not played it yet.

The last couple of nights, she has been all covered up. One night, she was totally wrapped in a blanket the whole time, sittin by the hot tub and the other, she had a big shirt on.

Episode 2 - InGame Play By Play 1st Period

Crowd filing inside the Reality TV Arena...

Hello and welcome to Episode 2 of Big Brother Season 12. I'm BroadwayBomber55.

Joel: And well, well, well. It is I, the quintessential studmuffin. Joel 'Harder than the tree that hit Sonny Bono' Gertner. Crowd chanting: GERTNER! GERTNER! GERTNER!

Dear Andrew, please sit down! LOL He keeps pacing while everyone is accusing each other and him of being the saboteur.

Joel: The two main suspects are Andrew and Brendon.

    Time for HOH Room!

    SHOWMANCE!

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 2 - InGame Play By Play 2nd Period

Enzo looks so familiar and I just don't know where I saw him before!

So why can't the cop pick the lock??!!?? She had to have picked up some skills ....

A BB TV insider in the media gondola wired for sound: When Kathy was explaining what type of person she thinks would be chosen as the saboteur she pretty much laid out all the reasons why my first instinct was that Kathy herself was saboteur.

Joel: So does anyone buy this business with brendon having a master's?

Well Joel, My only reasoning is if you spent that much time on a master's that you are sooooo proud of, why are you a high school swim coach? Either he is just after young girls or he is full of ................

    The Brigade!
    Enzo: Meow Meow
    Lane: the Beast
Hayden: (did someone get this, I forgot--)
    Matt: the Brains

Lane has no idea what "brigade" means, ha. Crowd chanting: holy ................! holy ................! holy ................! holy ................! holy ................!

Joel: BB55, it can't be worse than the Friendship on Season 6.

Oh yeah, the friendship *ahem* fiendship!

    The "meow meow"?

A BB fan in the front row: Hayden is an animal!

Beast, Animal, Brains, Meow Meow. You have got to be kidding me!

at hayden in that fairy suit

Joel: BB55, I think the Yankees can use Hayden as a run fairy!

Um Joel, we already got one. I won't tell you who it is.

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 2 - InGame Play By Play Overtime

Kathy is moving soooo slow! What is wrong with her??

Joel: I think you meant, super slo-mo.

    Cool have-not room!

kathy's behavior is like that of a saboteur

A BB fan in the upper deck: to the have not room

Joel: That's 2 competitions she tanked at .... hmmmm. I really don't want her to go.

Kathy is pathetic at challenges so far whether it's HoH or food challenges.
I can't decide if it's sabotage, she's put herself on slop too.

Joel: I think she's just crappy at challenges.

If she is she can very well be eating in secret without repercussion.

Glad the Have-Not room is so nasty. At least the hamsters will think twice before giving up next time.

A BB radio insider in the media gondola: I would have left Kathy right there in the caramel if I was on her team. Now she's complaining about maggots and whatnot.

Joel: Man, Kathy's whining is getting on my little nerves. She's the heel.

BB should have kosher slop for Andrew.

A BB fan in the lower bowl seats: WHAT TYPE OF CHALLENGE IS THIS?!

There is a red X on a picture on the wall! oops thought it was a red tape on the wall...now it's green
But now more Xs on the wall.

A BB blog writer in the media gondola: I don't know what the saboteur would have to gain from deliberately losing the food comp.
That puts him/herself on slop and sleeping in that grotty room too.
I wouldn't sabotage a food comp unless BB told me I had too and if I did I'd try to do it in such a way that my team didn't lose.

What type of game is Kathy playing?

Joel: Perhaps they'll call Kathy into the diary room and feed her.
I hear those DR sessions can go on for quite a while so they could slip her some food then without anyone knowing. I wish I can slip a burger in there.

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

Episode 2 - InGame Play By Play Shootout

If Kathy is the saboteur, she's being way too obvious. No one else had the trouble she did with the caramel, and she doesn't appear to be that out of shape.

Joel: BB55, I noticed Lane seems somewhat confused most of the time?

You're right Joel. I can't decide if he's playing dumb or he really is kind of dumb. The fact that he doesn't talk all that much doesn't strike me as odd, because there actually is at least some truth to the stereotype of the laconic westerner (I've run into enough of them to know), but when he didn't know what brigade meant.

Joel: He's definitely good at the physical challenges, though.

Brendon said that he doesn't have anyone with whom he can discuss science shortly after he said he's in a Phd program in physics. Good grief, the one place you'd think he'd have plenty of people with whom he could discuss science would be in a doctoral program in physics.

Why would Hayden be seeking advice from Brittany? Did I miss something? Have they become close? Shouldn't he be looking to his alliance for advice?

A BB fan in the sauna areah, and do we have no smokers in the house this season? I haven't seen anyone smoking out on the patio yet.

I think Kathy has taken a few puffs.

Joel: If Kathy's a heavy smoker, that might explain why she got so exhausted so quickly in the caramel, I guess.

A BB fan in the Reality TV Bar and Grill: I really just dont think I like Brittany....... if I was in that house, boy, that girl......... and her brattiness and "meangirl" attitude would be put in check so quick......... She probably would have been my first target

Joel: BB55, I think we have a floater in the house. Have we even heard from Kristen at all? She's barely been shown. Makes me wonder if it isn't Kristen that's the saboteur so everyone will be saying "omg, I forgot she was even in the house."

    Putting up the showmance ???

Thinking kathy is the saboteur....she is making it way too obvious about throwing the competitions !!

I have to think about that Have-Not room: Can you imagine Jesse and Gnat's reactions if that had been their have not room, and they'd been forced to sleep there?

Joel: Except for the supposed smell, I think last year's HN room was worse, with all the flat metal and thin mats to sleep on.
I know how to fall asleep just fine in a beach chair.

Well, the only things I like about this episode: Hayden in the fairy suit and the Have-Not room.

What's in store for the next episode? Stay tuned.

    Re: Big Brother Season 12

    Episode 2 - BB55's Takes

I'll tell ya, I would not be able to sleep in that room with those jars full of maggots knowing there was a mole just waiting to mess with people. I would not trust anyone not to bust one of the jars ...

Alright, that would be funny. Take a real glass from the kitchen and break it into a trash can late at night.

But seriously, I would like to see Jesse and Gnat sleep in that room with jars filled with maggots and if they're dead, oh my.

As silly as it sounds, I think if they should have to provide kosher slop (or some sort of equivalent) for a contestant who has identified himself as someone who keeps kosher. I would imagine it might be difficult enough for Andrew to keep it even if he cooks that for himself in a shared kitchen. He shouldn't have to eat non-kosher swill or eat nothing for a week (and I realize he isn't on slop, but he could go on slop at some future date).

So far, another yawning season from Big Brother. Will someone please wake me up for more action? Thanks.

Is it me, or is this group boring? I really thought Enzo was gonna be a sh*t stirrer, and other than making the "Brigade", he's really disappointing.

To me, I think almost every Big Brother cast except the ones in Seasons 6-8 were meh and boring.

Season 12 is really boring at the moment.

Every season starts out boring. We have to wait for people to start hating each other before things get good.

Also, does Lane remind anyone else of Jordan with a Y chromosome?

It has started off pretty boring. I wouldn't give up on it yet though. I think the drama will come eventually. We got a little spoiled last year because the fireworks started almost from the moment they entered the house. It's not always like that. In face, BB8 started really boring too and that turned out to be loads of drama.
