American Hot Dog and Competitive Eating Hero, Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut will be there to go for his fourth straight Nathan's title.
However, one notable and recognized face in competitive eating will skip the annual 4th of July contest.
Chestnut's main rival and six-time winner, Japan's Takeru 'The Tsunami' Kobayashi will not be in Brooklyn for the 2010 contest because of a contract dispute with Major League Eating.

Kobayashi wanted more guaranteed money and a "no trade clause".Originally Posted by BroadwayBomber55

YES! So glad there's a thread on this.
Chestnut for the fourth year in a row!
The fourth on the Fourth!

Chestnut winning this one easy.
Kobayashi may get more money to come back next year. He's the only one that can push Chestnut.

And Joey Chestnut takes home the Mustard Yellow Belt for the fourth straight year in a row.
No World Record today, but Joey Chestnut four-peats as Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Champion.

MLE needs Kobayashi back. One of the more boring contests in years.

USA! USA! USA!
The contest is nauseating, but the event itself is brilliant.
If Takeru 'The Tsunami' Kobayashi didn't have a MLE contract dispute, Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut would've challenged his own world record of 68 HDB today and the winning margin would've been 2 to 3 full HDB for Chestnut.Originally Posted by yankeesAZ

I came back from watching the 2010 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest from Joey Chestnut's hometown of San Jose, CA.
Congrats Joey of winning the mustard belt for the fourth-straight year.

Before the contest, ESPN's Paul Page and IFOCE's Richard Shea say that Chestnut had four legitimate contenders trying to knock him off other than Kobayashi: Tim 'Eater X' Janus, Sonya 'The Black Widow' Thomas, Bob Shoudt and Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti.
However, in order to beat Chestnut, you have to match or exceed his pace by one full HDB. Chestnut was at 34 HDB at the 5 minute mark at one point at 6.8 HDB/minute. The rest were at the 4-5 range.
The question is how much longer will Chestnut retain the mustard belt? Kobayashi won it six straight times 2001-2006 before losing in 2007 to Chestnut.

Even Kobayashi was in the house and the NYPD arrested him.

The buzz for next year's event begins. Seems like a script straight out of WWE.Originally Posted by BroadwayBomber55
