True Blood--Season Trois: The Official Thread

I think Rhody was afraid to start this because he would type "True Bloob" or something.

    Discuss....

Who is on Team Eric with me?

Although! I found Sam's homoerotic dream about Bill...interesting.

    No, I'm just lazy.

I liked the premiere a lot. The only weak part was Tara and her mom who brings nothing to the table. I hope they don't waste a lot of time on either of them. Actually, if they fell off a cliff or something I wouldn't mind one bit.

The heck with Eric, I'm on team Lafayette - no homo.

Pretty good first episode the other night. A bit scattered, but still good.

TB is certainly not the best written show on TV, but it's entertaining as hell. A great summer series. And some hot gals as well.

To heck with Lafayette, team Yvetta.

I didn't think the episode was anything special, and the story about the Queen being broke seems week.

The werewolves who kidnapped Bill were pretty gay too...I guess one of them is Patrick Swayze's brother? I will have to watch again.

I love Pam too...lesbian weirdness and all.

The only scenes I've seen from this show, were of her topless.

Can someone who's read the books explain - why did the vamps decide to go public in the first place?

Also, is that creepy old guy (who plays creep old guy in everything) higher than the Queen?

I think it had something to do with the fact that synthetic blood had been invented in Japan, so they did not need to kill etc to survive anymore? I know the Great Revelation as it's called is tied into TruBlood...but it's been awhile. I'd have to go back and refresh my memory.

Oh and the magister? I think he is higher than the Queen but he's a TV invention. He's not in the books. There *is* an old vampire "judge" in one of the books but she's a woman.

Meh. But that is how I feel about this show in general, acting sucks and the writing sucks too.

I will say though that I am on Team Lafayette also.

Probably was me. But hey it is the summer and there is nothing on.

Thing is, I love scary/monster/horror movies. I even love awful scary/monster/horror movies. But I do think this show is pretty bad.

    Lafayette rocks though.

Yeah, I don't get how it was nominated for best drama last year. People compare it to them, but no way is it on par with the great HBO shows of the past.

It's just fun escapist TV with nice visuals and silly stories.

And you're right about Jessica. I think she either got vampire implants in the offseason, or I didn't notice it last year.

    Yes, pretty much.

Now my new hobby will be comparing it to the books too. I kind of like how the show is vastly different...for the most part I guess.

My favorite part was one that white trash guy at the end called the mysterious new vampire a "vamper".

I thought Eric and Godric were going undercover as German SS to catch the Nazis?

Good episode. Liked seeing Bill torch Lorena. Also enjoy the Eric/Sookie scenes. They seem to have better chemistry than Bill and Sookie.

Now I'm confused...I though Eric said they were in the SS? I'll have to watch again. Were they just dressing up?

Yes the Snoop video was really ghey.

Love: cruelty-free, carbonated blood, blood bisque etc.

Eric mentioned that they dressed up however they had to to stop the werewolves.

The baby armadillo! The commando hand gestures and tracking in the woods!

And, OMG I just realized that new vamper detective was the librarian boyfriend love interest in "Where The Heart Is," which I watched a few times while home with my broken foot last year. Don't judge.

I wonder if that British vampire was sent by the King to spy on the Stackhouses. Maybe they've been watching the family for generations waiting for a mind-reader to be born.

I really could care less about Tara living or dying. Lafayette talking about putting her in the nut house was great though.

my guess is that Bill was assigned the job to seduce and control Sookie, by the Queen. The King knows this and sent the british guy to find info and blackmail Bill into betraying his queen or losing sookie.

No, not just you. She is starting to annoy me a little. They are not giving her much to do, except look for Biiiiiiilllll and that's getting tiresome.

I finally watched last night and yeah...that was a little twisted at the end. Hardee har har. Twisted, get it?

James Frain is soooo creepy and effective as Franklin. I hated that guy in the books but now I can't take my eyes off of him.

I was also amused/horrified by Sam's dad is his gross grungy underwear.

    And...Alcide????

Last night was gooooooood. Lots of crazy, kinky stuff...

The Tara/Franklin situation is getting a bit more insane.

    The whole werewolves-as-outlaw-bikers/V-addicts/fascists story is...interesting.

Sookie looked hott in the black wig as a goth chick.

And...I soooo wanted the Eric-at-Sookie's window scene to be real; that was great. I have a feeling it will happen eventually. In the books they have lots and lots of secks and different points.

they have too many story arcs up in the air. none of them seem to make any progress, i think the big picture is being lost because of all the small story lines.
