You'll know what Jordan would have received after you see the Gumbs, Williams and Morton contacts along with the Culver contract. Jordan was in line for about the same. With that money the Yankees have more flexibility to sign some more lower slot guys and some later slot fillers.

What do you mean "would have received"?

Since it is likely that Williams will receive the biggest Yankees bonus this year (I believe about 1.25 million) we can expect him to be announced last or nearly last on August 16th.

Mason Williams' Midland (Ohio) Redskins win the Connie Mack World Series ten minutes ago, 4-3.

Considering that the word at draft time was that he wanted $1M, I doubt the price went up on him. I suspect the number will be closer to $750,000 - $800,000.

Now that Williams is signed ,and after a summer where he stayed in playing condition by performing at the Connie Mack World Series, I think it is safe to say that we will see Williams within a few days to a week, getting some playing time in the GCL.

Guess I was wrong there- I heard that he originally wanted top 10 money, but then came down to $1M- guess that wasn't right.

A rare thing on this board, somebody admitting they were wrong.

There is no problem with admitting you made a mistake. The problem on this site lies in that some posters insist that you must be wrong because your point does not agree with their opinion, then effectively put their fingers in their ears and yell louder when you point out the flaws in their opinion.

It is the most unfortunate result of the union between talk radio and the internet, where one can hide behind anonymity and refuse to be accountable.

So very true. Anyone can be a "bully" on the internet, especially in a forum like these at NYYFans.
