Interesting hometown story about Culver's routine in the minors (his roommate for the GCL Yankees was 2b Jake Anderson, 7th rounder in the 2010 draft). I said was, because Culver was just promoted, along with Gary Sanchez, to Low A Staten Island.

Royal Flush: Hughes, Sabathia, Betances, Brackman, Banuelos.
I posted some video of Culver the first night and the next day (I believe), early on this thread.Originally Posted by McMoose

you mean Short Season A Staten Island YankeesOriginally Posted by Hughes2.50
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

It doesn't matter what you label it- its still short season ball.Originally Posted by Hughes2.50
Of course it is. It is low a ball too. You don't see many advanced college prospects sent to rookie ball (except briefly like Segedin), they send them to short-season if they just signed (Staten Island) - or they start them in full season (Charleson) low a ball. It might be a difference of opinion whether the ball is higher level in Charleston or Staten Island, but they are both low a ball.Originally Posted by Matsui55
