It's that time again...
Today is June 1st, which means the official start of training camp is only 7 weeks away!!!

As the new League Commissioner, I guess we can start the discussion with who's in, who's out, who wants on the waiting list and any personal issues we had during the season that can be improved. Please let me know/post whether or not you are returning. I have a feeling there might be some turnover this year, so if you want in the league, make sure you add your name to the wait list ASAP.

I won my big money league last year but won't be playing in it again after the commish absconded with the $2+ thousand dollars in prize money and spent it on booze and gambling, so I need a new fantasy football outlet.

Don't be so sure -- I've already reached out to her and heard nothing, and I'm not gonna leave people on the waiting list hanging until they reach the point where they say "go scratch" (happened last year when Mecca bailed). As much as I love her, let's face it -- she doesn't exactly keep up with her team throughout the season, and she's next to near impossible to get a hold of. I hope she comes back because she's an Original, but, unfortunately, I'm also prepared to move on with people who will be active.

OK -- no new changes as far as people coming back are concerned. I've already reached out to the 3 remaining no-shows, and I will do so one more time before moving on. Next Sunday will be the deadline for them to get back to me. Looks like our three on the waiting list might be all in.

If you know/talk to any of these guys, please reach out to them yourself and see what they want to do.
But, honestly, I don't how many more times or how many other ways they can be asked.

If anyone has an issue with dropping them this early, let me know.
Like I said before, I don't want to be scrambling for last minute replacements like we were last August...

If we were to go to keepers; I would prefer it be only 1. Like a franchise player.

That's exactly what it would be -- one Franchise Player per team per season.
Any other opinions? If you guys wanna go with it, I think the most fair thing would be to start using them after this season.

Or would you want to work it how the NYYF baseball league does it - you can keep a guy, but you have to draft him 2 rounds higher the following year, and can only keep him 3 seasons? I like this method best because it places a premium on great waiver wire pickups or late round draft steals. Guys like Ray Rice, Sidney Rice, Jamaal Charles, Miles Austin, etc.

I would say any player irrelevant of round can be kept either once or twice.

Haven't thought so much about terms & conditions, just the idea of getting that one player that carries over year-to-year. This is interesting -- but what happens with guys drafted in the first 3 rounds... they're all First Rounders? Another thing to consider would be just using the same, coordinating pick in the following season's draft. Waiver-wire pickups would use the 25th pick. And the more I think about it, I like the idea of using a Keeper Cap.

I'm also open to using last year's rosters and start this immediately.
But if I had to vote, I think it's better and more fair if we start carrying over next season.

I'd be for the Keeper rule, too. Actually, I'd like one on O and one on D.

I'd also be for keeping these guys as long as you want them. If we get into that baseball type fantasy rules, that would just add a lot of headaches, I think, to our Commish. It just seems unnecessary, especially with the much lower career years that NFL players have.

Just my thoughts. I'll go with whatever the majority wants.
I just can't wait for Football and the temperature to go somewhere under 90 degrees.

Sooooo......I'm still waiting for your payment!!! Lol... so we now stand at 7 paid, I'm still waiting for 5. If you haven't done so yet, look up two posts to see how to send it. Right now, the draft is scheduled for the last Monday night in August which is the same night we've had it the last few years -- August 30th at 8 or 9. If you go to the site, you should see the countdown clock in big numbers. Let me know if there are issues.

Also would like to see something added. There is a feature on CBS that lets you do a pickem for all 6 games every week. How do you all feel about including it somehow into the week -- maybe towards a point bonus? I'm tired of being the only one who does it...

Also -- since I haven't heard anything else, I'm guessing we are moving ahead with Keepers. Any last feedback on starting it immediately or waiting til the end of the season???

Wanted to let everyone know.... the draft has been rescheduled for Tuesday August 31 at 8pm. Everyone that has spoken to me about the original date so far has said the new date works for them also. If it is a problem, please let me know. I am not on-duty that night, and I PROMISE I will not take OT that night ( ) in order to make sure there are no problems in the draft room.

Since you're not picking til 11th, it may not be that bad. Make sure you set your queue up so that you are getting the guys you want when you want them. You'll definitely be there by the time your turn rolls around in the 3rd...
