He is on the Charleston RiverDogs on the 7-Day DL.
should be fun to see how 19 year old KDL does in the NYPL.
"Montero hasn't delivered completely on his raw power, but he's close to projecting as an 80 hitter with 80 power on the 20-80 scouting scale"-BA
I wonder when and if he'll play this year.
Kelvin should have some fun.
Above is my article on Gotham Baseball
Check the grammar in the little paragraph above the first pitcher to have to forms of the verb to be next to each other. Also, you might want to mention Justin Pope's connection to the Yanks.
Yea thanks, if you haven't noticed I rushed through it. Any other mistakes please let me know. I appreciate any feedback, even if it is pointing out my mistakes. Now how many writers would say that?
Robert Forer's formatting is a little off. And you might mention that some of the players like Manny Barreda have been injury plagued thus far and are looking to gain some traction in SI. Manny's pretty good.
Thanks, I will do that now. I wanted to get it done fast and post it. Tomorrow I am going to add info for the players I dont have info thereOriginally Posted by Buzah!
Glad I could help. Never give up.
Can anyone point out the biggest differences between the baseball level in Charleston vs SI? NYPL vs GCL?
also, which of these leagues is dominated by pitchers/hitters?
GCL is for High School level players, players with little experience and more raw. Also in the GCL there are no night games and no crowds its like high school games. The NYPL is for college level and second-third year minor leaguers. The NYPL usually sees the high college level draft picks.Originally Posted by DominicanYankee
Season starts today and no rosters to be found.
Arcia should be on it.
He was hitting .300 at Charleston, but they demoted him to SI the other day because they decided to keep Murphy there. He'd be the best catcher on SI unless Taveras is there and is better. The other two are organizational scrubs. And one of the catcher you have listed was drafted as an OF last week.
We will see what the official roster has tonight. Staten Island already has three catchers here with the team, adding a fourth doesn't make sense.Originally Posted by Buzah!
Shane Brown was drafted as an outfielder, not a catcher. And Farnham and McCoy are strictly organizational players who are not going to play ahead of prospects like Arcia and Taveras.
Any stats on Arcia and Taveras? ThxOriginally Posted by Buzah!
That's from his draft profile, but the Yanks took him as an OF.
milb.com, though off the top of my head, Taveras batted .398 or so in the DSL last year.Originally Posted by Michaels07
Here's the official roster as of right now. Arcia is there. Taveras must be going to the GCL with Sanchez and Perkins.
Is it me or does that seem like a very weak roster? The OF is obviously the strong point, though Roller and Lassiter could have strong seasons. Arcia is a strong catching prospect as well. However, who are the starting pitchers? O'Brien is one, probably Barreda as well. Who else? Brooks is on the DL or I would think he would be one. Where is Turley? Where is Deluca? Richardson? There must be a load of guys soon to come once some more sign and rosters start to fill out.
SI roster on Milb looks like it was updated
Along with Liccien and Valera? I don't see how it makes sense to have organizational fodder in Farnham and McCoy in SI and then put 5 catchers who actually have a shot to be decent all in one group. Unless they're sending Liccien and Valera back to the DSL. Can they do that?Originally Posted by Buzah!
Anyone know who Michael Recchia is?
Michael Recchia is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Recchia.

BABY BOMBERS FALL TO ‘CLONES ON OPENING DAY
In front of a sold out crowd of 7,171 fans at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark the Staten Island Yankees dropped the 2010 opening day contest to the rival Brooklyn Cyclones.

He pitched yesterday in EST, he will then make a 3 inning appearance in GCL then move to SI. Same with Richardson.
LATE RALLY CAN’T OVERCOME ERRORS IN SI YANKEE LOSS
In front of a crowd of 9,881 fans, the largest opening day attendance in Cyclone history, the Staten Island Yankees faced off with their crosstown rivals for the second night in a row hoping for a different outcome. However the Yankees rally fell short and inconsistent pitching and errors cost the Yankees as they fell to the Cyclones 9-6.
Should I continue with photos for ever game I cover in person in the game article or just use a lead photo?

O’Brien moved the ball in and out, varied speeds on his four pitches from 74-91 mph.
Unfortunately, I don't find anyone on the Staten Island roster interesting or worth following. Pathetic group imo.

Yeah when I read RAB nightly write ups, I usually skip over SI. DeLeon is there, but the man can't hit. Nothing really there right now.Originally Posted by yankeelover
I agree, I have been watching them this past week and it is very unexcited team. Roller reminds me too much of Kyle Larsen to get excited about him. I was told by a scout friend to keep an eye on Wilton Rodriguez but I have been very unimpressed by him.Originally Posted by TheHugeUnit2
