Yeah. I don't think Madrid have been linked with him but after Barca signed Villa you never know. Those two are locked in an eternal pissing match. He's from Atletico so he'd probably never sign there but with their name fetish and status he might consider. He's not going to City though, it'll be Chelsea if he stays in England.Originally Posted by BroadwayBomber55

Barcelona wants to continue their success over Real Madrid while Real Madrid is trying to stem the tide going their way.
Pep Guardiola's men got another striker and David Villa and if Zlatan Ibrahimovic stays, that's an impressive four attackers for Barca with Villa, Ibra, Pedro and Lionel Messi. However, they lost Yaya Toure to an English club and that's a big loss. Sure, Barca has capable successors and Seydou Keita and Sergio Busquets, but they lost their muscle in the midfield in Yaya Toure.
For Real Madrid, they got Jose Mourhino because of his track record, but the biggest question is that if Real Madrid get off to a slow start or have another unsuccessful campaign, will Florentino Perez give the Special One the early hook?
Finally, what about the other clubs in La Liga that have to deal with Barcelona and Real Madrid having more money than anyone else. That's where you have fans in other leagues like the EPL and Italian Serie A saying that La Liga is a "two-team league" and such.
For example, Valencia already gave up David Villa to Barcelona. They need to get rid of Juan Mata and David Silva to help out erase their 400 million Euro debt.
As for El Nino, I also think Chelsea will be his destination if he stays in the EPL even though Chelsea is going after Ibra.

Sounds like Hodgson is close to becoming Liverpool's new manager. He was my first choice out of the potential candidates, so I'm certainly content with it.
I heard about it last night. Looks like Sven-Goran Eriksson is going to Craven Cottage.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992

Good signing for City. He isnt great but he is very good.
Problem is, if the Yankees had no chance of winning and were in ridiculous debt. Jeter would have to be let go just to save money and thats where we are with Gerrard.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992

Very true. But seeing how he's on my desktop wallpaper, easily my favorite athlete who's not a Yankee, and the reason why I wear #8 in almost every sport I play, I'd obviously be a bit devastated if he left.Originally Posted by b_joseph

Yossi Benayoun lashes out on Rafa Benitez
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...ngland&cc=5901
Damn Yossi!"I made up my mind to leave a long time ago because of Benitez. He never treated me with the respect I deserved. If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit. When I scored, I still expected to be out of the team the next game. And when the fans wanted me to play, Benitez told me he couldn't understand why."
He told the News of The World: "I made up my mind to leave a long time ago because of Benitez. He never treated me with the respect I deserved. If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit. When I scored, I still expected to be out of the team the next game. And when the fans wanted me to play, Benitez told me he couldn't understand why."
Benayoun said: "There are many examples of him treating me badly. Last season, against Fulham and Lyon, the fans booed when I was subbed. They thought I was playing well but Benitez told me he was surprised they booed because I was not good enough. It was as if the fans' reaction worked against me. The situation got worse afterwards.
"He told me I was a better player as a substitute instead of starting in the team. Then, when we played Birmingham after I hadn't started a game for a month, he didn't tell me I was starting until two hours before the game. He tried to destroy my confidence. You can't treat a player like this and expect him to be happy. I felt so unhappy but, out of respect to the club, I never spoke out. The players and the people at the top of the club knew how I felt.
"I don't want to speak on behalf of other players at Liverpool, but people know what happened to Albert Riera and Xabi Alonso. It was the same for me. Benitez tried to break me like he broke Riera. I was sure he wanted me to attack him in the press during the season so he could turn the fans against me, so I kept quiet. I felt he was waiting for me to make a mistake so he could use it against me.''
He explained: "Benitez pulled me to one side after training and said: 'You will not be in the squad for this game. Thank you for your three years of service, now you can call your agent to do a deal with another club.' That's when Chelsea made an offer and the deal was done before he left. I knew I had to get away from Benitez. I could not risk waiting to see if he kept his job and I could not turn down such a massive club as Chelsea. It is good for Liverpool he has gone, but it was too late for me.''
On his switch to Chelsea, Benayoun said: "I'm not stupid. I know they have many great players and it will be hard to play in the team every week. But what's important for me is I know I will be treated with respect. Carlo Ancelotti is a fantastic manager and he knows how to treat players.''

I saw a clip of the whole thing, and Fabregas looked pretty uncomfortable with it. It looked was like he was in a strait jacket, he didn't even try to put his arms through the sleeves. It was a funny prank but I wouldn't read too much into it, especially since the only public statements Fabregas has made about this situation have hinted that he has no problem staying with Arsenal and that the less is said, the better.Originally Posted by BroadwayBomber55
Why should Arsenal bend over for Barca anyway? If they wanted him so badly, they should have held on to him when he was 16. Now they want him on the cheap after Arsenal developed him into the player he is today? Arsenal should accept no offer for less than 60 million pounds.
