    Bob Costas on mlb network

Did anyone watch the game on mlb network? I had the choice last night of watching the game on extra innings [Tampa bias] or mlb Thursday Night Baseball with Bob Costas [Tampa bias].
Bob Costas went on and freakin' on about Barry Bonds and steroids. He would stop and talk about the game a little and then start in again. Barry Bonds/Steroids/Hall of Fame. He was worse than Joe Buck on Fox.
Costas was completely unprepared for the broadcast. He didn't even have any idea why Cervelli wears a different batting helmet.
This guy should just be trotted out for the Olympics...

Costas has actually been a Yankee fan for a long time. I thought the broadcast was good last night. I'd rather listen to him and Smoltz/Kaat than Michael Kay any day of the week.

yeah i personally love listening to costas call a game, but he does have a huge issue against steroid users. his personal opinion should not be interrupting him calling a game though. that's unprofessional, i'm sorry

Maybe I caught him on an off night. I thought he was terrible.
He described Cano as 'red-hot'. I love Cano but he isn't red-hot at the moment, he's heating back up but not there yet. That's sloppy preparation.
    I don't mind Kay.
I do like Keith Hernandez, I can listen to him for longer than I can watch the Mets play.

Also, they noted that Cervelli was wearing the big helmet but then wondered if he had been hit in the head at some point. While I can understand why they would not dig up that detail before the game, they should have asked a producer to check it out during the game before they started talking about it on air. Again, it comes across as not being prepared.

All of that said, I generally like Costas overall.

A Tampa Bay bias? That's a new one.

i think sometimes broadcasters don't feel the need to prepare for Yankees games because they feel they're already up on everything since the team is always in the news

on the other hand, this could be one of those biases... i forget the name.
broadcasters may very well be equally or even less prepared for other teams' games, but I don't notice their mistakes(,) for my own lack of knowledge

I think Costas is a better broadcaster than Buck. Buck is only good for calling the All Star game that's it.

But remember Costas is not the team broadcaster like Kay so he doesnt know everything only what he researched.

Side rant I hated Costas calling NBA playoff games when Marv was fired. Costas knows baseball
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
