If he declines his own option, I wonder if there is a stipulation in there that his team can't offer him arbitration. It would make sense for Boras to put that in there, considering the only way he'd decline the option is if he's being underpaid, and why would he want to be attached to a type-A status. He'd want to maximize his value on the open market.
Players/teams can have that stipulation-I remember that being an issue when they traded for Wagner.

He's still a 2 month rental with a player option having a resurgent year. I don't think they'd get anything large in return.

Maybe they can trade him for the next Casey Kelly.

Even though I enjoy reading about internet drama, when it's like watching a so-bad-it's-good reality show, I would like to suggest a "no boards on boards" policy. It doesn't matter what happened and, honestly, less drama will make this thread much more enjoyable.

I hate the Red Sox, irrationally, trust me, but I guess I just don't take it as personal as some in this thread. I get that there is a spectrum of Yankeefandom, but this is the only Red Sox thread here so can't we compromise to leave the nonsense out? I don't want to avoid the Red Sox here, but I'm tired of constantly skipping posts.

I'd like to see it too to decide if it's any less childish than gloating about it in signatures and custom titles.

All the parties involved are adults, correct?

I've seen other boards ban political discussion for the fear of the very stuff that's happening here. It should be kept out of baseball threads.

Wonder how short a leash Beckett gets tonight? I'd think with 8 weeks on the DL Francona isn't going to have him out there much beyond 75 pitches. Who knows, though - the thought of Manny Delcarmen might just inspire him to have Josh try for a CG...

True. The Mariners are a perfect team to return from injury against, though.

I didn't know if he meant ThePoliticalSoapbox or CanoForKemp, as they both seem to share a bunch of usernames.

I really don't understand the whole thing but considering that Yankeebot, Bambino, and Ms Yvonne have all been RO'd I'll stick to watching.

Count me amongst those who have no idea what's going on either. I can't believe that Yankeebot is gone, she was an institution. Sorry to see my fellow South Floridian Miss Yvonne gone as well. As for President Kennedy, certainly a polarizing force, but I always found his remarks to be pretty funny and fairly harmless, sorry to see him gone as well.

Ryan Kalish is putting together a nice start in Pawtucket. 302/369/457 with 11 SBs in 31 games. Overall this year he has 24 steals and has only been caught twice. Is there a chance he is patrolling LF in 2011?

I don't recall him ever being my boy, as dreamy as he is.

Hopefully some team will be dumb enough to trade for him if he puts on a good show if/when he returns. He's going to be 27 in September, that's too old to have only one "good" season under his belt.

He really is. The only guy on the Red Sox that I wish the Yankees had. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the perfect game.

I was out, came home, put on the Sox/Mariners game cuz nothing else was on, saw the error and then the home run. Maybe I should randomly put on Sox games more often.
