With all due respect Lou, I have to disagree with your format. I understand that posting laundry lists will be ineffective, but limiting people to "one thing" is pretty restrictive. There's a lot about this site that seems to be in disarray right now, and I don't understand why we can't ask for all of the little things to be fixed (such as "Player PerformanceThreads" to be given a space between the last two words.)

Can 'Community Standards' be revised and reintroduced? There are times when it is not followed, by new and old members. Also I feel some things inhibit good conversation. For example, if a thread is locked, I believe we all should be given a reason. In this example, since there have been only 19 perfect games in the history of baseball, I believe it deserve its own, easily accessible thread.

I'd like to see a Moderator Survivor contest. Bub seems to be gone, and from what i've read on the forum folks will miss him both as a friend and as an active moderator. We need to fill those shoes, dont we?

Let's have a contest. We can have a sign up thread, maybe require them to submit a 5000 word essay on their reason for wanting to be a moderator, what they think they can improve, and how they would handle some of the more delicate situations around here. We can judge these essays and choose say 12 finalists.

Each week we'll come up with a new contest. Submit a video of yourself singing Cotton Eyed Joe, or search the forum and identify the 5 worst currently active threads -- stuff like that. Each week we will let the survivors vote each other off. It would be a fun process, and hopefully we'd get a crack mod to replace Bub.

Ok, that, or the search function fixed. I'd be happy with either.

I dont understand why "PerformanceThread" is even an option here.

For a moderator or admin with the right privlidges this is literally a 2 minute thing to fix (including logging in if your cookie expired).

It's what we call a "no brainer".

My peeve is the moderation isn't enforced stringently and when it is enforced it doesn't seem to be applied evenly.

I wasn't minimizing yours, but rather giving my own. I do agree with your point as I know excessive negativity and negative predictions are not allowed. I must be pretty powerful if saying that could minimize anything.
