I would take Noah ahead of Lee on that team. He's obviously not the same scorer, but he is a much, much better defender and a significantly better rebounder..

Just watching Knick games, Lee always has outrageously high amount of rebounds.
The last couple of years there have been very few (Howard) that have averaged more rebounds.

I think he's more likely to go to Washington. He'll have John Wall, Arenas, Thornton and that's better than anything the Knicks have to surround him with.

Going back to thinking about what we should do if we strike out on free agents, I think we should revisit the potential David Lee for OJ Mayo trade that fell through. I think David would go there if they're willing to pay him and in D'Antoni's system with more touches I think Mayo could become a Brandon Roy type player. That also greatly increases the chances that Melo signs next offseason since they go way back and are very close.
They already have Kevin Love and Al Jefferson. Why do they want another PF? It doesn't make sense. And if they really want another PF, Al Jefferson or Kevin Love will be the one who will be traded, not Mayo. They can also fill their need through draft.
OJ Mayo plays for the Grizzlies. Kevin Love and Al Jefferson play for the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves have absolutely nothing to do with any of this. The Grizzlies don't want to pay Zach Randolph the max so David Lee makes perfect sense for them and they had a deal in place but Lee said he wouldn't re-sign with them if he was traded there. Then he said he would sign with them after it fell through.

It's a load of crap and it reeks of David Stern and his god complex. The fact is that they cannot stop Lebron from investing in anything publicly traded and if they tried to in any way block a transaction such as Lebron signing because they claim it violated the CBA they'd almost certainly wind up in a courtroom taking an L and wiping some egg off of their face. The CBA does not have anything in it referring to publicly traded stock so there's not a damn thing they could do about it. The only people who could have any say in it at all would be the SEC and that's easily solved by getting an intermediary to purchase the stock. The league needs to realize that it can't just make sh*t up as it goes along. If it isn't in the CBA you can't enforce it.
