I'll just be happy to make it to one game this year if I can, and not have the waste a ticket like I did last year.
Or maybe I should just stay away since they won the WS last year and I didn't go to a single game.

Are all 'Mo's Southwestern' stands gone, or just the main one where the new NYY Steak stand has appeared? Although they were something like 1,800 calories, I really loved the grande nachos platter. No need to eat for 3 days afterwards.....
I thought I heard that the rep. from the group was an attorney, but perhaps that was just misinformation from the Internet!Originally Posted by Tino's Girl

I checked out the new "Monument Park" gift shop under the bleachers (RF side). They had a bunch of stuff for sale that was more about older Yankees teams. For example, they had a 1977 WS pennant for sale.
Apparently this used to be storage space.
I really wish that they would have a dedicated "Stadium Shop" with stuff just about the stadium. Right now you would be hard pressed to find a posted of Yankee Stadium inside Yankee Stadium.
The could have:
- Complete collection of Rob Arra's prints http://www.robarracollection.com/Bas...NYYankees.html
- Danbury Mint (and other company's) models
- Other stadium posters http://www.sportsposterwarehouse.com...kscoll-st.html
- Books on the Stadium
Parking is going to go up and up because they want everyone to use Metro North.

And after today for me, Metro North is the way to go. Last year I always seemed to end up going to a game in the week with no direct trains. Today from Brewster I had non-stop going down and back. If I drove I probably still would be in the car on the way h ome (I live near Danbury, CT). Only thing I don't like is the first train doesn't get you to the stadium until 11:30. I've always liked getting there before the gates opened but to be able to relax most of the way, the loss of the half hour is worth it.Originally Posted by yankees2010

pretty positive theres a small stand that sells nachos on field level right next to the right field bleachers. i dont know if they're moe's or what not, but they had nachosOriginally Posted by scronin
^^ "Wholly Guacamole" is its name. It has replaced Moe's both the permanent front on the Field Level in the RF corner (I believe behind 208 or so) and the kiosk on the Terrace/Grandstand level down the LF line (in the 320's somewhere.) I don't think Moe's had any other locations.
ETA: The water fountains in the bleachers (those of which I used) work. Surprise.
Dieting isn't a piece of cake.

There's also a Dylan's Candy Bar stand that is new down by Gate 2 and the pitch speed area.. had chocolate bars, candy buttons, etc.. the smores bars are really good
And I would have been looking over my shoulder looking for the guy who was booing if I was at that game. Maybe I don't get the whole booing this. What's the point?Originally Posted by GordonGecko

You show respect for the man as a man, not as an opponent. Once tha'ts over with, he's fair game- and he'd probably be the first to admit that and would have been fine with some razzes and boos from the fans- because this is New Yawk!

Yeah, that's what I'd suggest. It's a very short walk - just one block east, and it cuts time off the trip as compared to transferring at 59th St.Originally Posted by MooseDaGun
Also, there is an East Side Access project that BRNXBMRS mentioned that will create LIRR access to Grand Central Terminal. Not sure when it'll be completed, but it's long overdue (a study by the MTA showed something like 70% of commuters to NYC work closer to GCT than to Penn Station, so the LIRR going only to Penn Station was always a bit inefficient in that regard).

If you are going on a Sunday, you can also drive into Manhattan via the 59th st bridge and park on the east side- you can usually find parking around 1st ave without paying a meter- and then you can walk to Grand Central from there and take the Metro North, or park a little higher up and take the 4 train, although I am not sure how parking is past the 50's around 1st ave.
At least then you avoid the traffic near the stadium and all parking/toll costs... not that NYC traffic is much better, but this is cheaper and you avoid the hassles of transfers on the subway

yup agree 110%, it sucks. by the time you actually get in the stadium, the only yankees left on the field are the bench players and pitchers. and plus, they kick you out of the seats, unless you have tickets, as soon as the yankees come off the field.Originally Posted by BambinoCagna

Wind conditions this year are almost the complete opposite of last year. this year saw a LOT of NE winds that blew straight in. Last years West and SW dominant winds took everything out. And actually the numbers are almost exactly half. Those latest 6 home games gave up 13 HR's compared to the first 6 home games last year with 28 or so. lets see what happens as the summer wind pattern shows up and the the OYS not blocking any. you might see some BOMBS to left this year!Originally Posted by BRNXBMRS

I was in Main in home run territory in right field for OD and it was warm nice and comfy, no wind. Then I walked around to say hi to a few people and closer to first base was cold and windy, then up in Grandstand it was really cold. It was strange because last year in Main the wind really blew out but not on this dayOriginally Posted by RayG
But I think it's been shown pretty conclusively that the big cause of all those home runs in right field is the wall that's too far in compared to RYS. They made the NYS wall a straight line from two points so the ball doesn't have to travel as far to make it

Jack Curry had an article about this last year in the New York Times. He cited some third party (I forget who it was) that utilized images from RYS and NYS and concluded the right field fence was 5-9 feet shorter in NYS for the reason cited by GordonGecko.Originally Posted by GordonGecko
Here's a NY Magazine article that shows the diagram indicating that the fences in the outfield in the NYS are affected by the manual scoreboards, which are not curved, as were the walls in the old YS:
