Why trade him to a division rival??
Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
.325/.386/.605/.991
July 1 (182 at-bats):

Completely took me by surprise. In a chat watching people talk about Yankees game, and then this guy bursts in and says he's traded via Twitter.
Oh man...he's an upgrade over Campbell, that's for sure. He's also a lot older than Campbell and he's washed up. I would be interested in knowing compensation for this trade. Did DC deal their #4 pick for him? If not, that certainly takes some of the mystery out of who the Redskins draft.
I don't think they draft Bradford or Claussen now, instead they look for Okung to protect McNabb.
Summary: It's an upgrade at QB, but he's also a lot older than JC. Hopefully things work out.
Pretty darn shocking.
If the Redskins won a Super Bowl with McNabb, the entire Eagles front office would probably be blacklisted from the city.
Is Campbell under contract or a FA? And I agree with your point on Okung.
As for the Eagles....I guess they'll have an open competition between Vick and Kolb.

Strange trade. I never would have thought they'd trade him in-division.
I don't know how I feel about it yet.
I dont think its a positive or negative...its just....there. Giants still have to play him twice a year. The Skins made themselves better while the Eagles prob made themselves worse.Originally Posted by BonusCantos
Its just a head scratching trade. I cant figure out why you trade someone of that caliber within your own division.

A second round pick from this year's draft and either a 3rd or 4th rounder in 2011 is heading to Philly per Schefter.
Eagles are usually good with player evaluation..I'd imagine they know something that we dont know but will know sometime during the 2010 season.
Good trade for the Skins though.
"Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."
Washington may have made themselves better but they still don't quite scare me. Philly without McNabb and Westbrook doesn't scare me that much.Originally Posted by dabomb2045
Trading him is one thing....but send him elsewhere. IMO you just dont trade someone like that to a division rival.Originally Posted by b_joseph

Great news for the Bills. The only team that may take Clausen ahead of them now is the Browns (unless another team secretly covets him). I don't know if the Bills want Clausen but it makes him a more viable option now.

Yeah I think both teams evened out....Philly wont be as good as last year, the Skins will be better but still not all that great. So I guess if you look at it that way, it def benefits the Giants and Dallas--esp if the Giants can make the necessary moves to improve themselves.Originally Posted by BonusCantos

Oh man I may actually root for the 'Skins to win the Super Bowl now just so Philly is totally decimated.
Now THAT would be really funny!Originally Posted by YanksFan1992

Not sure what to think as a Skins fan. It's an upgrade, but he's coming to a bad team to start with. So far reaction from Skins fans is mixed. Some may just have blind hatred as he did play for Philly.

I am not happy. Those were good picks, but a division rival and essentially getting rid of every bit of veteran leadership on offense...who the hell will the receivers look to? Hank Baskett? They just want to bang Kendra. If the Yankees weren't on, and now losing, I'd be pissed to no end.
Why I love TwitterEricStangel : With the addition of Larry Johnson, Willie Parker & Donovan McNabb Redskins are clear favorites to win 2006 NFC East![]()

The Eagles have loved Kolb since they drafted him, and this pretty much confirms it.
While the Redskins do, what the Redskins always do. Like was mentioned above, about 4 years late on LJ, Parker, and Donovan.
Parker and Johnson are done though. McNabb is far from it IMO. I'm just baffled by the decision to trade him within the division.
I certainly would not want to see the Giants trading anyone worthwhile to Dallas, Philly or the Skins.

Either the Eagles know he's truly done and pulled a fast one on Washington, or they did the best they could to not send him to the likes of Oakland or Buffalo where there's absolutely zero chance of ever winning again. Also, I guess this means Favre is going to be back in Minnesota.

He's not done, but he's close to it. 33 yr old QB who has taken a ton of hits, and has missed a lot of games the last few years.
This is what the Eagles always do (See Dawkins)
Yeah I can't say that I saw this one coming.

Hank Baskett isn't on the team. He played for the Colts last year.Originally Posted by DontHateOnNumber2

Thank you. Part of me knew someone would say something about Hank's triumphant return.Originally Posted by TheManKnownAsMecca
