Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
.325/.386/.605/.991
July 1 (182 at-bats):
.348/.417/.658/1.075
I'm fine with either.

Ok, we'll go with Saturday. Technically you have 24 hours to make a pick but we don't want people to wait a full 24 hours if possible. The obvious reason is that the draft is right around the corner. The sooner you make your pick the better. Feel free to insert pictures into your pick and give analysis of why the team needs the player.
Mike if you are worried you can always send me a list of players your team would take if available as the pick gets closer. Let me know. We'll start Saturday at noon EST.

Just a reminder, tomorrow at noon EST the NYYFans.com NFL Draft begins. Clive will be on the clock drafting for the St. Louis Rams.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
Welcome everyone to the 2010 NFL Draft. We have coverage today from both ESPN and the NFL Network. We'll hear from Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Chris Berman, Mort, Mike Tirico, Mike Mayock, Rich Eisen, Emmitt Smith, and many others.
The Rams have made their first pick and it is just a matter of time before it is announced. We'll see everyone back here in a little less than one hour!

Welcome everyone to the 2010 NFL Draft. We are coming off a great year where the New Orleans Saints had a magical season and won their first Super Bowl. Today the draft begins with the St. Louis Rams. The pick has been turned in.
With the first pick of the 2010 NFL Draft the Saint Louis Rams select Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford.
Clive's Analysis:
A few weeks ago I would have really considered taking Suh or Gerald McCoy here with the hopes that there would be a decent quarterback left in the second or third round. St. Louis just has so many holes to fill that grabbing one of those guys and a McCoy or Tebow later might be the best way to accumulate as much talent as possible.
However, they went and cut Bulger outright, which means that whoever I'm drafting at QB is probably going to be starting and is going to be the best quarterback on the team. So with the first pick of the draft, I'm taking QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma. Here's hoping he's NFL ready and not Ryan Leaf.
The Detroit Lions and TheFUTURE are on the clock.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
Sorry for not seeing this thread sooner. I'm always up for this.
Since their pick is late, is it possible me to make Dallas' pick (if its not too much trouble)?
The idea of letting a Giants fan make it is just sickening...![]()
To quote the honorable Gov. Rod Blagojevich....
“I’ve got this thing and it’s f—-ing golden. I’m not giving it up for f—-ing nothing. I’m not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there.”
Don't tease me, you know what I do for a living.
TheFUTURE has had well over 24 hours so the pick will be made for him. With the second pick of the NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska. Tampa Bay is on the clock.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
Tampa Bay with the 3rd Pick take Gerald McCoy, DT- OK
Dez Bryant would be a good pick here as well, but the Defense needs to become the heartbeat of this team again. McCoy is a stud after Suh.

Kiper: So far no real surprises here. I think the top three prospects are now off the board so it will really get interesting here. While Dez Bryant would have been a great target for years to come for Josh Freeman, taking McCoy was the smartest move Tampa Bay could make.

Ox, the Dallas pick is all yours.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
With the #4 overall pick, the Washington Redskins select.....Russell Okung, OL, Oklahoma State.
Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
.325/.386/.605/.991
July 1 (182 at-bats):
.348/.417/.658/1.075
The Chiefs really wanted Russell Okung to help out their dire, dire, awful Offensive Line. But as usual, there are plenty of good prospects in that area of the field, so.............................
With the 5th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, The Kansas City Chiefs select:
Bryan Bulaga - OT - Iowa
Really thought about creating a stir and selecting McClain...but decided to go with a possible impact player in the trenches.
"Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."
Emmitt Smith: Bryan Bulaga bologna balloons blasphemy. I can't put together sentences well but great pick.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
With the 6th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:
Safety Eric Berry from the Tennessee Volunteers
Going into the draft, the Seahawks have a number of holes to fill, including OT, DE as well as the need for a running back.
However, with a current safety core of Jamar Adams and Jordan Babineaux (the man who caught Tony Romo from behind after he fumbled the field goal snap in the Cowboys-Seahawks playoff game from a few years ago), the Seahawks are also in need of a safety. Okung and Bulaga are off the board, and it is still too early for any defensive end or running back CJ Spiller.
Thus, Eric Berry, almost unanimously considered one of the top five players in the draft, was the easy pick here, and the hope is that he can be a great safety for years to come.
With the 7th pick the Browns take Dez Bryant - WR OK State
Sorry, trying to do this on my phone from work.

Berman: I love Dez Bryant. I think in 5 years he may be the best player in this draft, but who is going to throw him the ball in Cleveland Mort?
Mort: I could see Cleveland taking Colt McCoy next round if available. If not, there are other prospects available and Jake Delhomme will run the helm.

mylo, you are on the clock. Apparently you do not have private messaging on here. Hope you see this!
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
I'm holding out hope for mylo to show up but his posts are very sporadic. That said, I'd like everyone's input on pick 8. Partly because I have pick 9 and also because I don't want to have to choose by myself. You are allowed to pick anyone you believe they'll take but here are my top 2:
Trent Williams- IMO the best OL in the draft still sitting here.
Jimmy Clausen- They desperately need a QB and Clausen looks good. That said, they are still paying Russell big money so they may take a QB in round 2 or later.
PM me your picks for Oakland or write them here. You can nominate 2 people and we'll tally up the final scores if mylo does not show up.

It's between Bruce Campbell and Trent Williams IMO.Originally Posted by TheManKnownAsMecca

I'd say their biggest need is QB, so I'd go with Clausen.Originally Posted by TheManKnownAsMecca
The Raiders have many holes to fill and will look to trade down, but without any takers they will fill the biggest need.....
The Raiders pick.....Jimmy Clausen, QB Notre Dame
Thus ending the Jamarcus Russell disaster.
My apologies for the delay, I'll be checking in more frequently for future picks.
This year I don't know what direction the Bills will go in. Buddy Nix didn't pick an OL in the first round in any of his drafts in San Diego. I would personally pick Trent Williams here but I'm going to go with what I think the Bills will do.
With the 9th overall pick, the Buffalo Bills select C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson.
Trent Williams would make a lot of sense here, but the belief is that Marshawn Lynch is going to be traded draft day. With Marshawn leaving Buffalo, the Bills pick up the top back of the 2010. Nix said that Buffalo's biggest problem is that they reached for their biggest need and that his style is to take the best player available.
I could be wrong about Lynch leaving but that is the speculation in Buffalo right now.
Edit to add: Due to my terrible MS Paint job, I am beginning to wonder why there isn't a program that has the top draft prospects where you can put every team's jersey in their hand. I think it'd be pretty cool.

We need a pick for Jacksonville in case dabomb does not post tonight. He is on vacation and that alone is far far more important than this so I don't expect him to. Let's hear some ideas guys.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
Picks for Jacksonville, Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech or Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
It's a bit early for Tate, and DE is a bigger need for them than WR, so I'd go with Morgan.Originally Posted by mylo

With Dez Bryant already off the board, with the 11th in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select Rolando McClain, a linebacker from Alabama.
![]()
Miami filled their biggest need on offense, acquiring WR Brandon Marshall from Denver. Now they will address the defensive side of the ball and select.......
DE Jason Pierre Paul, So. Florida.
This pick will also seal the deal of Jason Taylor signing with the Jets!
With the 13th pick of the NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers take Trent Williams, OL Oklahoma.
He fell a bit and the 49ers just had to select him.
Buffalo Bills 2010 "Oh"-Line
The Seahawks need an offensive tackle, so with the 14th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Seahawks select Anthony Davis, OT from Rutgers.
It's a bit of a reach, but an OT was necessary, although a trade down would be best if possible.
With the 15th overall selection, the New York Giants select Joe Haden, CB University of Florida
The Giants have more pressing issues on both sides of the ball, but Jerry Reese is a believer in positional value and Haden is the best corner in the draft. With Kevin Dockery departing and Aaron Ross' reliability in question, depth at corner needed to be addressed at some point.
Don't tease me, you know what I do for a living.
Tennessee Titans select DT Dan Williams.

We might want to cut the time per person to 3-4 hours, or there is no way this is going to be finished before the actual draft.
We definitely need the picks to be made in a more timely matter but I don't want to cut it so short in case a pick is made at like midnight. I can't expect people to be on here constantly. That said, we do have a lot to get through.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992

So there's 96 hours until the draft. If we consider Midnight-8 AM (eastern time) "dead time," that would leave 64 hours until the draft. Considering we have 15 picks left, four hours per person (excluding the dead time) would just about do it.Originally Posted by TheManKnownAsMecca
It's completely your call though, I don't care either way.
Edit: I meant to add that I mistakenly took Taylor Mays for the Niners and was supposed to pick Earl Thomas so the pick was changed.
YanksFan I agree on the eight hour deadline but I have some picks coming up which won't take any time at all so that will speed things up and I know you will pick quickly too.

The Bengals are tempted to take Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma but don't want to give up on their 3rd round pick from last year. For that reason, the Cincinnati Bengals select Taylor Mays, S, USC.
