I guess that does make some sense since she was married to him for 6 years so that makes 6 years of her being their step mother. If she wants to continue having some involvement with them I commend her for that. I just hope that Jesse does not use it as a way to get back with her. I hope she holds her ground about ending things for good.

    I did read about that.

My friends adopted a baby from China. They spent like $10,000 with all the legal stuff, then they had to go to China for 3 weeks to do more paperwork and visa's and stuff. Why not just adopt an American baby? If I were to adopt, I wouldn't go international.

Don't these people watch Law&Order? They did a Russian adoption episode like 12 years ago.

I wouldn't want to go to China for any reason let alone adoption. I'm guessing it is harder to adopt here and just as expensive. But celebrities like Madonna and Angelina Jolie would not have a problem with that so I don't know why they need to go overseas.

@ Mr. Coffee, muggs, and JDP.

Back on topic I received my copy of "People" yesterday. Yeah, I subscribe. Don't judge.

Anyway...she goes into detail about why they adopted, why from New Orleans etc. It was not an infertility thing or at least that's what she says. And they wanted to adopt in the US; they had to go through the background checks and home visits etc.

I can't judge - I subscribe too. I haven't read mine yet...after I read it, I bring it into work and four other ladies read it.

Someone was making a stink yesterday on one of those shows that Julia got ousted off the cover that she was promised by Sandra and her baby..that there is a small America's Sweetheart rivalry between the two - I don't know what rock I've been under because I never heard of that before.

I also read People. My BF brings it home from the salon after he receives it there so I can read it first.

As for the Julia/Sandra rivalry, I think it is the media that is trying to drum that up. If Julia was ousted off the cover I hold no sympathy, I never really liked her. I get the impression Sandra is a lot nicer person, and let's face it, more of a story at the moment. Maybe when Julia's husband cheats on her with 5 other women she can also get a People cover.

Julia already had her paparazzi moment of glory when she went out to a cafe wearing a homemade "A Low Vera" t-shirt, which was in reference to her husband's ex-wife.

Yeah I agree with you guys, it was too short. When I got to the end I said "That was it?"

It would have been a hell of a lot easier if they just smuggled a baby across the southern border.

Re: Sandra Bullock leaves her husband

Jesse James did an interview on Nightline the other night. He claimed that he was abused by his father as a child and that is why he self destructed his marriage to Sandra. Does anyone feel sorry for him? I did feel sorry for the abuse he received from his father but, at the same time, he seemed so monotone in the interview it was hard to detect remorse on his part for what he did to Sandra. I know he feels bad for himself, I'm just not seeing him feeling it for her.

Does anyone think that is a good excuse for what he did?

I don't feel sorry for any cheaters. Sounds like he's pushing the blame onto someone else. Nope, sorry. You're an adult and responsible for your own actions, even if you did have a sh*tty childhood (which is sad, if true).

I didn't watch the interview but I know what you mean by the monotone. From seeing him on his show and The Apprentice, that's just the way he is . As someone who has been accused of being cold or unfeeling because I don't express emotion the way others do, I tend to defend people for that.

Too bad you didn't see the interview. It kind of explains where the guy is coming from since he was physically abused by his father who once even broke his arm. I do feel sorry for him for that but the sad thing is that the breakup had to happen to get him to look at what caused his behavior but I think it is too late to think that anything can change with Sandra.

I heard on the radio this morning that JJ's sister said that he broke his arm when he fell climbing a fence-- but his dad was yelling at him to get down or something at the time.

    Not exactly the same thing.

Not if it is true but that wasn't how JJ described it and I tend to believe him based on the interview. There was real pain in his voice and expression when he told about this. His father is denying that the abuse ever happened and the sister is just siding with the father because the whole thing is embarrassing. I believe Jesse because it is not something that a person wants to do, say they were beaten by their father as a child, on national TV and he did not appear to be lying. According to Jesse he was running away from his father at the time and fell and broke his arm but he was not climbing a fence, his father was chasing him to beat him up for some reason.

I heard clips of it on Howard Stern on the way home. Maybe I'm jaded but it sounded to me like he was just trying to make excuses for his behavior. I don't know how he came off during the whole interview but did you get that impression?

Maybe if you are watching it on TV you get a different perspective. He was in tears when he spoke about his father and how terrified he was of him as a child. They showed pictures of him as a kid and your heart went out to that kid. However, I don't think it excuses his behavior but at the same time makes it understandable. He was saying he suffers from low self esteem and the very thing he cared about he self destructed it. These feelings were coming up so he went into that rehab where they delved into his feelings further. He is at his bottom or as low as he can go, so his feelings were pretty raw. At the same time, I think he needs to delve into this more for his own growth but as far as excusing himself in order to get Sandra back, I don't think so. If he does get more help maybe this will make him a better person and give him a greater understanding of himself. But if he is doing it to get Sandra back he will not change as a person nor will he get her back.

Re: Sandra Bullock leaves her husband

I missed the clips and the interview. how exactly was he connecting the abuse from his father to him cheating again and again on his wife?

ETA - just read the transcript. I liked the guy before and I feel bad that he was abused. I hope he continues to work on himself and gets to a better place, not just for himself but for his kids. I just don't think that's an excuse for what he did...

there were a few things I didn't like in the interview..she asked if he had affairs with the 5 women that came forward:

I wouldn't believe everything you read in tabloids, you know. I was unfaithful to my wife and I'm not going to put any kind of count to it and - just the fact that, you know, I took a perfect marriage and a perfect wife and perfect life and step-mother and like threw it away because of my actions, it doesn't matter - it could have been a million. It doesn't - you know, bad is bad, no matter what it is.
why not put a count to it? was it that high? or did you give a number to your wife and you're afraid more will come out of the woodwork? just rang untrue to me..

I also didn't like his answer about the nazi picture...

That is one thing I can't cut him any slack on.

His father actually had made some kind of statement about giving him Nazi information when he was a kid but then taking it away when he realized it was bad for him. Duh? You didn't know that already?

    It's always the parent's fault, I guess.

    Sigh.

Some people like to blame the parents and not take responsibility on their own. Pretty sad.

I didn't get the impression that he was blaming his dad for what happened at all.

I didn't watch the interview. From what I've read here, I thought he was saying that he behaved in the way he did because he was abused by his father as a child.

I didn't feel that way either. I don't thin parents should be blamed for the average neurotic problems that come up in adulthood, but beating on a child on a regular basis goes beyond bad parenting, IMO.

Jesse James' airplane auction has crashed and burned -- less than two hours after TMZ broke the story that he was touting the plane's appearance in his infamous Nazi salute photo as a selling point.
