Dumb & Dumber
Please don't say that.2. Theo Epstein, Boston Red Sox
Among baseball's really big spenders, the Red Sox are the most efficient, or, if you prefer, the least wasteful. It's difficult to avoid roster bloat while playing even-up with the Yankees, but they've managed it. Before signing starter John Lackey this winter, they didn't have a player making more than $14 million per year, and the team is built around cheap, homegrown talent. Like the Rays, the impressive thing about the Red Sox is that they may deserve even more hype than they get.

Epstein at #2 is a joke more like #4 or 5
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
I was gonna say, that's impossible.Originally Posted by NYYDragoon

I actually think he's a little overrated myself and would knock him down a peg or two for Julio Lugo alone.
Who really cares about the $$/win stat???

PS- life in the "209" near Yosemite- I was on a road bike ride yesterday and encountered a ( large ) bear in the middle of the road

Friedman at #1 is a pretty good call. He's a sharp dude. Epstein is too high, but whatever. I like Marchman; he's a good dude.
I don't think Dombrowski will stay in the middle of that pack for long. Given the nature of the moves he made this offseason, he's either going to look like a genius for acquiring young power arms and a young, promising CF or look like an idiot for giving up proven guys still in their prime while also bringing on guys like Damon and Valverde - older and not exactly cheap.
Hard to argue with Firedman, but I think he gets the inverse treatment that Cash gets. That franchise had had the pick of the draft litter for years, and he just happened to be the one GM that hit paydirt on the Pena Project. Timing is everything there I guess.Originally Posted by I'm A Wenner!

THAT's a joke. Lazy journalism.

They paid Penny, Smoltz, and Lugo to play with other teams last year.
