Cubs pitching completely imploding in the seventh inning. Melky is the only Brave with an 0-fer today(though he does have a walk)

Austin Jackson threw out Jason Kendall on a shallow bloop. Nice throw though.

so business as usual for most players on opening day. Roy and Tim are awesome, Pujols hits 2 HR, etc, etc, etc.
A fool and his money can throw one heck of a party!
I thought they did schedule difficulty partly based on the team's performance the season prior for competitive balance? You know, the team with the best record will have a more difficult schedule than a last place team. I always thought they did thatOriginally Posted by snarkerella

Jeff Mathis with a HR. I think I just got PTSD.
Felix Hernandez is a master at pitching, I love watching him.
Javy Vazquez's 2010 non-Cy Young season: 4-10, 7.15 ERA, 140 Ks, 170 IP.
It doesn't hurt that he is helping my fantasy team out.Originally Posted by DEADSOX

I really miss him.

He nearly missed a home run by a foot or two foul, too.

I can't root for Mats tonight. Oh well.
Baker's been sharper.

dammit, the Angels bullpen kept getting into trouble and getting out of it. Now the Twins bullpen comes in and immediately gives up back-to-back HRs. Boooo.![]()

Well we've got our first extra innings game of the season. The M's and A's are headed to the 10th.
Kanekoa Texeira versus Edwar Ramirez. If that doesn't say dominance, I don't know what does.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992

Twins beat the Angels 5-3. Someone besides Joe Nathan closes; the world does not end.
Also, the Rays walked off against the Orioles tonight. And the Astros are really bad.

I checked the Gameday and found that Zito only had one fastball touching 89MPH. And that's a ball. The Giants are paying $18.5M to a pitcher whose fastball sits at 85MPH-88MPH. Ouch.Originally Posted by snarkerella

Don't worry; it just means he'll slump harder later in the season so he can keep that OPS+ under 100.

Posted this in prospects thread but figured it should go here too:
He gave 3 runs on 6 hits, but Kennedy struck out 8 and walked zero over 5 hinnings last night... He struck out the side - including A-Gon looking - to start the game.

Kennedy also struck out Kyle Blanks the first three times he faced him. The 77mph downer curveball impressed me most of the K's.
"I see Jesus Montero as a potential once-in-a-generation force on offense."
Nelson Cruz is absolutely destroying the balls he hit. He hit a absolute laser over the CF wall last night.
