Cubs pitching completely imploding in the seventh inning. Melky is the only Brave with an 0-fer today (though he does have a walk)

Austin Jackson threw out Jason Kendall on a shallow bloop. Nice throw though.

Led the game off with a walk and came around to score after the Cubs jumped up 3-0.

    A-Jax is having a good all-around game.

Jeff Samardzija should really be catching passes somewhere this fall.

Ok, if you haven't seen the Buehrle play yet watch it now.

Phil Coke got really fat. And the Farnsacoaster is in for the Royals!

Anyone else think it's kinda weird that the four AL playoff teams from last year are playing each other in the first series this year? It's not like they could have designed it like that or anything.

so business as usual for most players on opening day. Roy and Tim are awesome, Pujols hits 2 HR, etc, etc, etc.

I thought they did schedule difficulty partly based on the team's performance the season prior for competitive balance? You know, the team with the best record will have a more difficult schedule than a last place team. I always thought they did that

Go ahead RBI single for Matsui, Angels lead 4-3 in the bottom of the 5th.

He has the same facial expressions and everything. None.

dammit, the Angels bullpen kept getting into trouble and getting out of it. Now the Twins bullpen comes in and immediately gives up back-to-back HRs. Boooo.

Twins beat the Angels 5-3. Someone besides Joe Nathan closes; the world does not end.

Also, the Rays walked off against the Orioles tonight. And the Astros are really bad.

I checked the Gameday and found that Zito only had one fastball touching 89MPH. And that's a ball. The Giants are paying $18.5M to a pitcher whose fastball sits at 85MPH-88MPH. Ouch.

And yes the Astros are really bad.

That ball Longoria hit to the upper deck was absolutely crushed. He hit it so hard that the O's announcers were speechless.

Don't worry; it just means he'll slump harder later in the season so he can keep that OPS+ under 100.

Posted this in prospects thread but figured it should go here too:

He gave 3 runs on 6 hits, but Kennedy struck out 8 and walked zero over 5 hinnings last night... He struck out the side - including A-Gon looking - to start the game.

    http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7320487

Kennedy also struck out Kyle Blanks the first three times he faced him. The 77mph downer curveball impressed me most of the K's.
