Funny I was just talking about this last night with a friend. I had three and went with Brackman, Suttle and B. Mitchell. My other two will be Kyle Higashoki and hmm how about Betances?

I don't think that Nunez or Nova have a lot of ceiling to play up to. Nunez made big strides last year, and I think he's going to settle in as a solid UT guy.

I'm going to take a different approach and name guys that aren't really on the prospect map that could really make a huge gain with a great year.
And another thing. I can't choose just 5 so I'll break it up.
Hitters: Judd Golson, Justin Milo, Garrison Lassiter, Luke Murton, Colin Curtis
Austin Krum is another possibility. Jose Pirela is a little high for me to include, but he could really help himslef this year. Jimmy Paredes is going up fast. A lot of hitters who are sleepers.
Pitchers: Tim Norton, Phil Bartleski, Brett Gerritse, Juan Marcano, Kevin Whelan
The pitchers are a little harder because even if they pitch well that doesn't mean that there stuff is there yet.
Krum has the tools but is getting up there for AA and Horne is another guy Id put on a sleeper list

Thats what I say all the time. I'm happy with the system, yeah I'd like more studs but I have nothing to complain about when I took at the entire system.

I'm pretty sure the Yankees will get him back. It was probably never anounced and he'll wind up in ST or something. That has happened a couple times before. I'd be a little upset if they didn't bring back a top 50 organizational prospect.

How much time is Betances supposed to miss due to the surgery?
Obviously his number 1 fan here would dispute this.
But with any prospect, velocities are usually a little overhyped if not alot. His velocity probably lies somewhere in the middle of the optimistic and pessimistic scouting reports.
However, I do find it hard to believe that a prospect would jump from ACC baseball to NYPL and put up much more dominating numbers without having some legit stuff.

I don't really have much info, lol. It just seems to me that getting released would be a huge wake-up call.....he's got talent, he just needs to get in shape and work harder and you could see him as a major piece in our bullpen.
I forgot about Bryan Mitchell. That's another guy I'm really psyched about.
I guess, for pitchers, I'd go:
Ramirez, Mitchell, Stoneburner, Brackman, and maybe Banuelos.
For position players, I'd go:
Heathcott, Gary Sanchez, Murphy, Almonte, and De Leon.

Will Calderon be in the Gulf Coast League this year or is he headed back to the DSL?
I would think the GCL given his performance this past year in the DSL. Generally speaking particularly when it comes to position players the guys that perform in the DSL are brought over to the GCL. With pitchers its a little less cut and dry because their stuff may not project as well despite a good performance, but with position players the guys that perform and are more highly regarded are given the opportunity to play in the GCL.
I'd be VERY surprised if Calderon wasn't in the GCL.

Listen your preaching to the choir here...I saw him live and was as I said shocked not expecting much. I read the draft recap before seeing him and it said he could touch 94 but almost all pre draft bio's claim big numbers but you come to find most guys are on average 89-91 while he had pitched 91- 94 most of the game I saw.( with control)
