Adam Schefter tweeted a picture of what was left of Chad Jones's car. Not much left of its front. He's lucky to be alive.
Just heard about this....wow. Hopefully this kid pulls through.

Just heard about it, thoughts are with him, hopefully he can be ok to go on with his life.
Stuff like this just makes you think...carpe diem type of stuff.

Back to the drawing board on the punt return front -- Chris Davis was cut after failing a physical.

Hixon waived. I would imagine he clears and is placed on IR.

Anybody going to SUNY Albany for training camp?
I'd like to but it's a hike up there.
The Giants are signing Tyree to a one-day contract so that he can retire a Giant. Nice gesture.
My dad and I usually pick a day to go up there and watch the morning practice....been a tradition for us for as long as I can remember. Think we're going up there next Thursday.Originally Posted by RhodyYanksFan

Bring back Ted Lilly!
Mike Garafolo of the NJ Star Ledger is one of the best writers on the Giants' beat. Good article today about what to look for in camp:
http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...amp_guide.html
Garafolo is very tuned into the time, so I found this interesting:
Coughlin is an interesting case. I'm behind him as coach, and while his tenure here has been excellent, it's a bit uneven. He's made the playoffs in 4 of 6 seasons and won a Super Bowl, but in 3 of those appearances they were one & done. That said, I think he's a very good coach and he deserves a lot of credit if Fewell has that defense playing up to its potential. I can see there being some issues there though after how many defensive players were fed up with Sheridan and how Coughlin blindly supported him all season.CONFIDENCE IN COUGHLIN?
The speculation began after last season, only two years removed from a Super Bowl victory: Is Tom Coughlin on the hot seat? Well, he’s still the Giants coach, so what does that tell you? Still, another disappointing season (especially if there’s another second-half meltdown) and you can bet the conversation will continue — perhaps in-house as well. Right now, the front office believes in Coughlin. Does the locker room?
Last year reminded me a lot of 2006. Both years started off well (6-2 in 2006, 5-0 in 2009) before ending at 8-8. But we were ravished by injuries in both years as well. That's always the risk in this league. If we stay healthy, I expect to contend for the NFC East title again and at least make the playoffs. We're actually being overlooked by the pundits in my opinion.

I like going into the season underrated, it takes the pressure off. I expect this team to show-up for every game and play 60 minutes taking nothing for granted. I expect the defense to be more aggressive at getting to the QB and tackling after the catch and preventing the long play. If they do this and stay healthy (health is just a crap-shoot IMO), they will win ten+ games make the playoffs. They have the talent at the "skill positions" to make a huge difference.Originally Posted by TheBamTino24

Giants making an effort to get Tuck to be the leader this year. Its a massive year for Tuck, he has all the tools to be a DPOY type but the past 2 years injuries have held him back some.
Time to become that superstar.
"Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."
You can't make someone be a leader. It has to be part of their nature. If TC keeps a leadership group as in the past Tuck will be part of it, but I don't think Tuck sees himself as a vocal leader. Maybe Keith Bullock will assume that role even though he's a new Giant.Originally Posted by b_joseph

Will he play enough though? With that injury, I'm not counting on him just yet.
I dont think Tuck has to be a vocal leader, he just needs to set the tone more on the field. Make things happen from start to finish like we all know he can do.

Going up to Albany tommorrow to watch the morning practice. I will take my camera and try to get some good pics....then post them on here for everyone.

If he can play linebacker, I say yes. Otherwise, the Giants are pretty deep there and don't need the distractionOriginally Posted by b_joseph

Bring back Ted Lilly!
And here we go the annual Jets preseason hype "were the best, we are winning the superbowl, ny is our town" till the reality of the season sets in blah, blah diareah
The way the Jets are talking, the regular season and playoffs are just a formality as they fast forward into Super Bowl XLV.
The three-time Super Bowl champion Giants are not quite ready to concede the greatest city in the world to a team that has managed to miss the Super Bowl 41 years in a row just because it is starring on "Hard Knocks," has a team full of big talkers and has an outgoing, quotable and very funny coach who talks about the Super Bowl all the time.http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/fo...en_for_ne.htmlWho owns this town? Big news: Phillips to practice on Monday.![]()
Bring back Ted Lilly!
Seems like players are so much more injury prone in training camps these days. Of course, it could all be relative, but we just happen to hear more about it now with the 24/7 news cycle.
It's kind of strange because you'd assume the players are better conditioned than ever. Maybe they're too conditioned for their ligaments and joints, I don't know.
Kenny Phillips is such a huge "X-Factor". If he's healthy, this defense has the potential to rebound and be one of the league's best. That secondary - Webster, Ross, Phillips, & Rolle - is top notch on paper.
On a lighter note:
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/gia...th-broken.htmlDid you ever wonder who has the coolest car on the Giants?
Well, you can eliminate K Lawrence Tynes, who has been driving up to lunch the last few days with LS Zak DeOssie in this:
.What’s really weird about this is that Eli Manning won’t even look at it when he walks by it. Also, according to a well-placed source, Manning’s car has a big picture of Lawrence Tynes on the side.

Seubert may be back earlier. He is a tough SOB.
He knows how much of a battle he has for his job....the more competition the better!
I would like to see Beatty playing LT though..if he is good enough and that would mean Seubert would back up Dave Diehl.
"Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."
I'd rather see Diehl replace McKenzie and Petrus become Seubert's replacement.
