Where were the Grandy candy lickers that showed up tonight when he went Oh for 4 games? I didn't see any of the so-called "haters" make any comments. Nobody was hating on him for another slump.

There's no doubt in my mind that some actually wait by their computers for a grand Grandylicious moment. Pretty funny actually.
In fact, Sterger claims that, in one of the photos Favre allegedly sent her, he's masturbating — while wearing a pair of Crocs.

The term "hater" is absolutely retarded...especially because people don't seem to understand what it means when they use it.

this is actually what makes its use amusing

Now do you see what I meant in the Jeter thread?

Oh I know. I was just responding publicly to a PM I received on the "hater" topic.

I suppose that should quiet down some of the "bad first step" comments for a while. That was an insane catch at a critical moment of an important game. Good day for Granderson, and we needed it.

I know this is your pet peeve, and I get that... but you're feeding it. Your post (which I personally thought was kind of funny) in the Granderson/Jackson thread after Jackson had a good game kind of baits these responses when Granderson has a good game, doesn't it?

How about ignoring the "haters" posts and giving our boy some props, what with the game saving catch, 2 doubles, walk and two run performance and all?

By the way, what did you think of his first step tonight?

    Still hard from that catch.

F1! I haven't been here since another of his recent droughts! I don't think I ever came in here to rub in that he had a bad game or slump. Any of my posts that might seem negative address the overall disappointing year we are getting from him and the less than impressive return on the trade - and usually without making any comparisons to AJax, which I avoid for the most part.

Precisely. Humor (ok "sarcastic" humor). That was the intent. But why does an Ajax comment or observation have to necessarily be a commentary on Granderson? Even though I think that we got the worst of the trade in value and salary (particularly upcoming), I've said that Ajax wasn't going to start here this year and my biggest gripe is that I believe we could have received better value in return.

My facetious post about AJax in the ITL thread was solely based on some of the comments that try to diminish his rookie performance and had nothing to do with Granderson. So how is that baiting, particularly those touting Granderson in this thread? They are two separate individuals.

Amigo, how can anyone ignore them? The same predictable members haven't show up here when he went into his recent funk, and on the flip side, neither did anyone come here to bash him. So wtf are they talking about?

It's more humorous than bothersome what they do. Don't they realize how utterly ridiculous they look and how silly their "hater" comments are? Why don't they just gracefully celebrate his base hits and catches instead of coming in here and creating imaginary haters? Too funny.

It's hard to do or say anything in this thread with all the noise and celebration whenever he gets a hit.....or makes an occasional outstanding defensive play. I could ignore their silliness and just give him kudos, but given all the Grandy cheerleaders that would be boring, and perhaps look disingenuous or forced on my part. So I save my "Wooot's!" for home. Anyone who didn't get a woody on that play, considering the circumstances, including an overall team funk, isn't a Yankee fan.

Do we actually KNOW with 100% certainty that he didn't get a bad first step on that play and that a dive may not have been necessary if read correctly? I kid.

Great play, outstanding dive, great timing, HUGE game, I can go on and on...

But, when I'm at the game and I notice that he continually takes a step back and/or freezes on balls hit in front of him, I might mention it from time to time, especially if I think he could have gotten to the ball, as I commented in a more recent post.

    No hate here.

The play was very nice, but why are people making it like that catch was do or die?

It's quite possible they don't win an important game against the guys they're competing with for HFA without that catch.

it forced extras, would have put a runner on second easy or maybe third, and a loss there would have been absolutely crushing. no catch, maybe no jorge monster, no throw-out DP for the ages,

Obviously bro, but I've never seen a catch with two outs and no one on base called a game-saving catch before in my life.

Ah, gotcha. I think only one person did that. It may have saved the game, but it also could have been a meaningless XBH. I think most people called it a great catch at an important time in an important game.

Well maybe not do or die on that very catch, but prevented us from facing a do or die moment. If that falls in, the next batter is do or die, since a subsequent base hit is game, set and match.

Re: 2010 Curtis Granderson Performance Thread

If Curtis plays it off the wall, it could easily have been a double
If Curtis dives and misses, it ends up a triple or maybe even a inside-the-park HR, given Zobrist's speed
Either way, that puts the Rays a Zobrist SB + WP or Carl Crawford single away from inflicting another agonizing walk-off loss on the Yankees

When Zorbrist hit it I was thinking please don't leave the yard.
Then I was thinking please just hold him to a double.
Then Grandeson somehow wound up with the ball in his glove.
I really thought there was no chance that ball would be caught off the bat.

    I can't recall the exact date, but over the last month (115 PA) he's .263 / .360 / .525 with 7 HR.

If nothing else, he's become a viable trade chip again, in case they wanted to sign an OF (which I hope they don't).

he has a 102 OPS+ and will make a lot of money after this year. i dont see much trade value here. i highly doubt he will get traded just based on the return he will get
