you have Thome as coming back to the White Sox after being traded?

The Cards are gonna sign Beltre, Lopez, and Polanco? Crowded infield...

I put Schumaker back in left after Holliday leaves and Brendan Ryan back to a bench role.

An infield of Beltre (3B), Lopez (SS), Polanco (2B), and Pujols (1B) would be a huge upgrade offensively, and the Cardinals (according to some of their fans) have a lot of money to spend, and also want to show Pujols they'll build a team around him.

And I couldn't think of a team to put Thome on, and I know he didn't have any bad feelings for Chicago trading him, and they do have a DH spot open (unlike most teams). The Angels would have been an interesting choice as well.

Thome expressed interest of coming back to the White Sox at the end of the season, I don't think thats unlikely at all.

how much you think Thome would require to sign? I know a team that needs a DH but doesn't want to pay much for 'em...

Abreu took 8 million to sign with the Angels, so probably less then that. 6 million maybe? With incentives to push it up? Not too sure.

(The Mariners also fit for Thome, but I think they'll sign Matsui instead)

no way Smoltz joins an AL team, he tried that once and failed. My guess he'll be in the Cardinals bullpen and emergency 6th starter
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
