I am going to be there since I work right on the route of the parade. I was there for the last parade 2 years ago for the giants ... I am sure the Yankee one is going to be alot better.
To let you guys know the best time to get there is EARLY EARLY EARLY. Its gonna be super packed if you get there at 10 and youu will be all the way in the back. For the Giant parade i had to use my DSNY (Department of Sanitation) ID so I can get thru certain areas so I could get a good spot since the cops usually give you a break if you work for FDNY , NYPD or DSNY. So if you have a family member that is a cop take their union card and show it to a cop and you will be allowed to closed off areas... trust me I saw it.
But get their at 8 so you can eat breakfast and then go find a spot at 9 and enjoy waiting lol. And look out for freebies.... for the Giant Parade alot of things were being given out.

The early the better. I just say 8 because it is still pretty early... crowds start hitting hard at 9 and they start closing off exits at subway stations around that time. For the giant parade i got off the train at 8 and they didn't close off any exit but as the crowds got bigger they started redirecting crowds to exits away from the parade.
If you the front spot all the way in the front then yeah maybe you should leave at 5 but have fun chilln for 6 hours there lol. Just come prepared to be standing for a long time and being crushed by tons of people.... When you get to your spot at first no one is behind you but give it 30 mins or so and you will see that 1000's of people are standing behind you and your always being push esp when the players come by. I got there by 8 and i was like 3 rows away from the front and by the time the players came by I Was standing at the front near the police marking.
If you or anyone has issues with being around crowds and pushing and a lot of standing i suggest this might not be the event you want to go to. Bring snacks and water

trains you want to take is the 4,5,6,A,C,E,1,2,3 . pending where you want to be on the parade route you get off at certain stops.

I was at Liberty St for the Giants parade. I got there around 10 AM and that was WAY too late. I shouldn't have gotten in, but a friend of mine managed to get me past the barriers the NYPD had already put up.
I'm planning on getting there around 7 tomorrow morning.
I was thinking about it, but I'm going to pass.
