    Any thought to increasing the rookie limits? 50 IP is pretty easy to hit for a starter.

    50 IP and 130 AB are the ML limits for being a rookie.

    Figure 6 IP per start, it would take 9 starts to break the limit. 5 days per start and you're talking about 45 days to hit the rookie limit.

    130 AB, using the avg of 3.1 AB per game, would be 43 games to hit 130 AB. So it's about the same for hitters @ 130 AB and pitchers @ 50 IP.

    I know why it's at those figures, but the consequences for being a rookie are far more important in this league than it is in the majors

    Flanders.... I believe those numbers are rookie eligibility requirements in the majors. So IIRC we used them as a basis for minor league eligibility.
