    Paranormal Activity

The Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB score have me very intrigued.

I am going to see this tonight, anyone seen it already?

Nope, but very interested to hear your reviews. Take detailed notes OK? ;-)

Seeing it at 9:15 tonight, will post.

This was the IMDB review, on the Paranormal Activity homepage ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179904/ )
This isn't your typical horror movie. Not flashy with insane special effects and buckets of fake blood, not some giant killer with a knife or chainsaw or machete. This is exactly what it was called, Paranormal Activity, a movie that once it grabs you it never lets go. I am going out on a limb with confidence in saying I am the biggest horror fan alive, no offense to anyone but just test me and you'll agree. This is now in my top 3 best movies of all time (If you don't have annoying people laughing in the theater while you watch it). Every moment was intense and breathtaking, a horror work of art. the supernatural is so unknown, movies like this have a way of forcing themselves into your mind and staying there. This is the epitome of that, I am not going to say much more. Please watch it!

I'm just afraid it's going to be another Blair Witch where the promotion was everything, and the movie was crap. AICN has had 50-50 on positive and negative reviews. I hope it turns out to be good. Have fun!

    Re: Paranormal Activity

Just finished seeing it, it was really really good for what it was. The key phrase what it was. Its a "pulter guys" type movie and it was very nicely done.

Everyone is definately going to over-hype it up, but just s long as you aren't expecting to seeing Satan and his fellow demons walking around the screen gauging peoples eyes out, it is definately good and definately freaky. Similiar style to the Blair Witch but much more action/substance.

Another thing is there is no music to this movie, so try and catch it at a time when there is not a lot of people in it, like a Monday night. There was so many damn people talking in the theater, it took a lot away from it. Like when a event was happening, everyone in the audience is going "omg omg omg omg omg" that you couldn't hear anything meh, stupid me to think Thursday night was a good time to go.

LMK, if anyone else sees it. I am a big horror buff.

For anyone who has seen it .. when katie was pulled out of the bed and dragged accross the floor was absolutely terrifying

Just got back from this. It was great!!! Definitely could have done without the prostatots in the theater talking and giggling the entire time but still enjoyed it.

f*cking trailer showed the last scene of the movie. That happened with [REC] what possesses peopel to do that I will never understand.

That was definitely cool.... her face when she finally became possessed was sick. And the scene in the attic had me a little jumpy.

I found myself covering my face a lot, and the end of the movie was legitimately the only time I've ever screamed in a movie theater. Micah's body flying across the room was effing crazy. So was the look on her face as she looked at the camera. F***ed up.

the attic scene was the most suspensful part of the entire movie. as you saw the footstep emerge on the floor. terrifying.... Ya I generally try to stay away from the trailer for all sorts of movies I am interested in, but this trailer gave away the F'ing ending of the movie? like seriously? Even if you happen to see the trailer before hand, that was still absolutely the craziest scene of the movie. You had NO idea that was coming.

Great movie... Again, you really have to see this in a Down time. People talking in the theater ruin the movie.

I don't know, the theatre crowd kind of enhanced it for me.

the only trailer I saw showed Micah getting thrown into the camera. Is was the only scene in the movie they show, and it's the last f*cking one. So stupid.

    Re: Paranormal Activity

Got hoodwinked into seeing this last night. I didn't think it was possible, but I actually found a movie that's worse than Napolean Dynamite. This may frighten some very young adults, but otherwise we're talking major league stupid. On top of that, the entire movie is filmed from what's supposed to be a home video camera, so all you get is a grainy picture (they did that on purpose) and so much camera movement it gives you a sick stomach. This film has no redeeming values at all...absolutely none.

Bub gives Paranormal an F. And that's being nice.
    Let the kids play.

    Re: Paranormal Activity

Wow a movie that actually plays on a fear instead of being in your face gory and over the top with blood and people still rip it apart!!! I had some dude on friday at a bar tell me for 15 minutes how he could pick apart the historical inaccuracies and fallacies in this movie. Seriously why even see it if you're going in for that purpose!! lol (Bub this isn't directed at your post, I'm just venting as I've been hearing it for a week now)

I knew eventually the hype was going to make people very cynical about this movie. I'm glad I saw it before I bought into it. I found it really entertaining and different from most of the lame ghost stories that have come out in the last decade. I think this is going to take the same course as Cloverfield did. People loved it, it got big, then everyone hated it, and now the hype has died and the people who loved it seem more prominent because the people who hated it are sick of bitching. They moved on to Paranormal Activity.

I think the "home video" genre has never disappointed me. Diary of the Dead, Blair Witch, Cloverfield, Home Movie, Paranormal Activity, REC.... all awesome. I hope it keeps coming!

Internet. I didn't know there was alternate endings.

I was waiting for the scene where he gets slammed to the wall..and nope. Instead she just comes up and sits there rocking back and forth for the final 3 minutes.

This movie was completely horrendous in every sense of the word. Pretty sure the director hates women.
