I hate this damned team. Hopefully Girardi manages as well as our last trip out to that Hellhole.
One thing that bodes well for us is that Alex Pwns the Angels.

Should be a lung-burning series.

This Angel team isn't exactly like the ones that used to give the Yankees fits.
This Yankee team isn't of the same ilk and its recent predecessors.
Different Manager
Different Opponent
Different Team
Different Result. Yankees in 6 or 7.
I don't know if I can physically and mentally take this next series.
Javy Vazquez's 2010 non-Cy Young season: 4-10, 7.15 ERA, 140 Ks, 170 IP.

This is going to be a tough series for both teams. Yes we should respect the Angels but so should they the Yankees. I think the Yanks win in seven.

Game 4. Joba Chamberlain on the mound as a starter ... who's with me ?
I've wanted another crack against the Angels in the postseason for years.
Let's finally do this!
GO YANKS

Very difficult series coming up. The Angels offense is no joke, and Abreu looks like a man on a mission. I'll say Yankees in 6. And we better win game 2 as I'll be there.

Yankees in 6.
LETS GO YANKEES!
The loser now will be later to win...
Yankees in 5, bank on it.

Facing the Angels, and not the Sox, might be the best thing for this team.
Lester & Beckett are, IMHO, better than Lackey and Weaver.
Alex hits the Angels.
My concern is that neither CC nor AJ have a great history against the Angels.
What should happen is Games 1 and 2 on Wednesday and Thursday. At least, that's what used to happen.

My heart tells me the Yanks in 6.
My brain tells me Angels in 7.
Let's hope my heart's right.

I just feel good about the Angels this year - historically they have our number, but this year the Yanks feel different. I love this team.
Keys to the series:
1. Be careful with Abreu
2. Don't throw a strike to Vlad
Seriously, if any pitchers throw it anywhere near the middle of the plate to Vlad, I will hunt them down and bitch slap them.
2009 - World Champion New York Yankees!!
LOL @ Joba starting against the Angels. Try next year.
This could be a VERY entertaining series. I am going to be honest, I am afraid of the Angels. They scare the @%%* out of me actually. I've grown to hate them as much as the Red Sox.
With that said, we must take Game 1 and 2 at home. Offense needs to step it up, especially Damon (especially if he is left to leadoff, which I don't think should happen).
2010 Regular Season Record: 88-57

Heck, they could bounce the ball to the plate and that is still no guarantee that Vlad wouldn't get a hit.Originally Posted by CoyoteYankee

Time to beat these annoying bastards.

I refuse to be scared of the Angels. I respect them a great deal, but that's as far as I'm going. Must wins at home? I would not say that because the Yankees can win on the road.......they've always been able to do that. We should respect this team instead of fearing the Angels so much.

The Dodgers and Angels exorcised their demons in the previous round, the Yankees will do the same in the next.
Good luck to Yankees.

That whole interview with Kim Jones was full of win. A.J. plays with a lot of heart, and has been an integral guy in the clubhouse this entire year.

The Yankees are going to have step up their game in this series. The Yankees capitalized greatly on playing an average team, and A-Rod's heroics saved them from a possible 2-1 deficit. To be fair, the Angels capitalized on a pathetic looking Red Sox team. I agree with the poster who said the first two games are crucial. We have to take both of them and ensure that the series comes back to New York. We will not lose a Game 6 or 7 at home.
Yankees in 7.
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston."
Another series, another Team of Destiny awaits the Yankees.
A-Rod, no question. The offense was mediocre to abysmal otherwise, save for Jeter.
