Yep. Which is a real shame, because he is a fantastic coach. The Nets are a terribly run franchise though, so maybe it's good for him.

Do the Nets really have to play the Lakers tomorrow night? I mean, do they have any chance of winning and avoiding a tie for the worst start to a season in NBA history?

You've gotta feel for Lawrence Frank here. This is clearly not his fault, it's clearly nothing he did. Thorn didn't give him the horses to compete, and then forces him to take the hit for not competing. Sad ending for a quite decent coach.

He's been more than decent since his inception as the Nets head coach. Have you see the roster he's had to go to war with? Check out the 2005-2006 season. I have no idea how that roster won 49 games.

Nets down by 20+ vs the Lakers in the 4th, on their way to 0-17.

I dont get how the Nets are THIS bad. I mean there is no way they should be 0-17....there is some talent on that roster. Hell, I'd take the Nets roster over the Knicks roster...thats for sure.

    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):

Bill Walton is open to mentoring and teaching Brook. Can you imagine that conversation? IMO, Walton is one of the best passing big men of all time, and if he can teach Brook just that, he's got a good chance for an all-star team a few years down the road. He's just a 20/10/3/3 waiting to happen, if he learns from Walton's passing ability.

A Harris, Lee, Williams, Yi, Lopez starting line up should be good defensively, if the offensive load doesn't kill Harris , Lee, and Lopez.

For the future, absolutely. Right now? No, I'd take the Knicks roster. They at least have some depth.

0-17 is rough. Tough to believe they won't eclipse that mark with Dallas coming to town. Maybe they can beat Charlotte to stop the bleeding and go 1-18.

But at least the Nets have a pick coming to them after this season.

Better question: How long will it take for Sean Williams / Josh Boone to foul out while trying to defend Dirk? If Sean is in, I'll put the over/under at 20 minutes.

No. I just watched the 1st half....and....damn. Dallas scored 77 in the half, 49 alone in the 2nd quarter. They are shooting 80% from the field.

The crowd reaction at the end there almost reminded me of how Sox fans would give Ortiz a standing O everytime he flew out to the warning track in May.

I have no idea who any of the Nets players are, but one of them was actually doing a little dance on the sideline in the final seconds. Just a little over the top for celebrating your first win 19 games into the season.

It was Terrence Williams. It was his first win in the NBA. He wasn't celebrating himself, he had a crappy game, but he was celebrating the team. I loved seeing it.

The Nets could sign Bosh, LBJ, and draft Wall #1

then sign and trade Devin Harris for a two guard like Joe
    Johnson or Josh Howard

    John Wall
    Joe Johnson
    LBJ
    Bosh
    Lopez (the good one)

    Any questions??

I'm surprised they didn't get John Sterling to do it, especially since he was the broadcaster for the Hawks back in the 80's, the team the Nets were playing against tonight.

No one. Get used to it.

A lot of people are saying the Nets would have won if Lopez had played up to his usual level. I call BS; Yi, Lee, and Devin all played very well, and considering how those three usually suck, it totally outweighs Lopez doing poorly.
