I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I don't hate the move.
Also lost in LeBron mania is whatever came out of the Pritchard interview.

Jordan Farmar will have you guys tearing out your hair within the first month...I wish you all the best though.
"Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."

Really pleased with all the moves the Nets have made. Very well balanced, deep roster.

Good for the Nets fan. This team is still not a playoff team IMO, but their goal in next year should be winning 30-40 games and keeping payroll flexible enoguh for one or two big trades. So far the front office is attaining the goal successfully.Originally Posted by Joba-Walkee

Maybe not, but there's no way you thought they would get shut out.Originally Posted by Joba-Walkee

Billy King has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next president of the New Jersey Nets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
King met with ownership on Tuesday in New York and has the strong endorsement of outgoing president and general manager Rod Thorn and coach Avery Johnson. If the Nets hire King as president, sources said the team will likely promote vice president of basketball operations Bobby Marks to handle day-to-day GM duties.

I thought they'd miss out on LeBron, Wade, Bosh, had a decent shot at Amare, and prayed they wouldn't get and overpay Lee or Gay.
Still think they have a shot at Scola. I'd love to see a front loaded 3/36 million deal offered.
What the ................ is up with this? King and Ferry are two of the guys around the league I'd consider downgrades from Thorn. Marks is doing a nice job though.
I would be very surprise if the Rockets don't match the Nets' offer. If the Nets find a way to steal Scola away from the Rockets............ I still can't imagine that. Too good to be true.Originally Posted by Joba-Walkee

Nets' fans, Billy King is the GM. That's it. One title. He's the guy. He, Avery and Bobby Marks run the B-Ball Dept.....Mostly Avery.

I trust Marks (if he was behind the recent signings), but have little faith in Avery and 0 in King.

Puts us right at the cusp of the playoffs, with tons of money for next season.

Seriously, awful move for them. Got to be for CP3 appeasement.Originally Posted by Snatch Catch

Its even a pretty terrible job of appeasement, woo Trevor Ariza. Its more like they are just making themselves into even more of a victim by giving up Collison so that when Paul wants to leave, they can guilt trip him LeBron style and then act so defenseless and horrified when he exercises his right to work where he wantsOriginally Posted by Joba-Walkee
It's official... still waitin for the dust to clear. If anything, this is going to accelerate CP3's departure and frustration because Ariza is.. horrible. If he's taking 6 shots a game around the basket and finishing on the break, playing D... great. But he's not even a number 3 guy. And he's supposed to be a number 2 guy. This has disaster written all over it and was made in desperation. Houston really did well by getting out from that contract.
Nets are looking in much better shape... front line is set, backcourt should be fine. Should be at the least a 35-40 win team.
I'll def. be picking up Collison in my fantasy leagues...

Honestly he's probably the 4th best offensive player on the starting line up, maybe 5th behind Emeka. Paul, Thornton, and West are all far better.
I wonder who'll win out for the battle at SG, Morrow or Williams.

Multiple league sources familiar with his situation told SI.com that Anthony would also be open to signing a long-term deal with Houston or New Jersey should either of those teams offer the Nuggets an acceptable trade package.
Terrence, two picks (we have 4 tradeable 1st rounders over the next 3 years, and 6 2nds), and Murphy. Do it Thorn.
Thorn doesn't run the Nets anymore.

And each day, I am thankful for that.Originally Posted by tdel23

Melo just makes too much sense for the Nets. If he is willing to sign an extension, I predict that the Nets will offer Favors plus 1st round picks, which should be a very competitive offer.

I wouldn't want to give an absolute top prospect like Favors AND have to extend Melo for the max (I think he's the level below max, but I'd be willing to overpay).Originally Posted by kan_t
Not that I want to give up Favor. But I think the Nets will. Favors can very well be the deciding factor in Melo trade. Like I said before, Melo just makes too much sense for the Nets, in many ways.Originally Posted by Joba-Walkee

He is way too much to give up for a guy who can leave at the end of the year. Denver's leverage isn't great in this.Originally Posted by kan_t

Hard to disagree if the 2 or 3 picks mean 2011-2013 first round picks.Originally Posted by Joba-Walkee

There are rumors the Nets would have to give up Lopez for Anthony. That's just laughable. Given contract and age, that's a dollar for dollar trade, and that NEVER happens in NBA blockbusters, especially when the guy wants out.
You don't get better by making fair value trades.
