He's going somewhere. He is still not scheduled to pitch tonight.

    I'd rip my hair out.

Much like Washburn, not a guy I'd want on my team ordinarily, but the Yankees need arms and if he's cheap, why not take a shot. I don't want to see anything of significant value going to Cincy for Cornrolls though.

    Washburn is better.

Right but I just mean that this is a guy I am not high on but he does fit a need so if the price is right (see: nothing), I'm game.

Really? Even if you're giving up NOTHING for him you still wouldn't want him?

I know. He's expensive, he's at best a fifth starter in the AL, he's a former Sock, he's one of Francesa's boys, etc. I get it. He's not a quality arm. But the Yankees don't have depth and if someone else goes down, they likely have to dip into a bullpen that has been lights out to spot start Ace or maybe Hughes and I'd rather see them acquire a scrub ML pitcher who can give them some innings of potentially passable baseball down the stretch than the alternative.

I would take him if they took back Igawa and took back enough money to make the contracts match. Needless to say, that isn't likely to happen.

Duchscherer could likely be had for only slightly more than Arroyo and isn't owed nearly as much money. Even if Douche has elbow surgery again tomorrow, he'd likely pitch better the rest of the way.

If that's your reasoning, Snell can be your guy too.

Yeah, or him. Whoever dude. The Yanks need rotational depth to guard against injury. So long as they are cheap (like nothing cheap) and not injured. I'd like them to get Duchscherer too but you gotta hedge your bets with a guy coming off off season elbow surgery who's thrown a total of 40 pitches in the minors this season.

Yeah call Beane up. I'll throw him low level fodder. But Cash needs to get someone else too. I don't want Duchscherer stranded rehabbing in the minors all season.

    You're joking right?

You're basically saying you wouldn't pay a posting fee on Bruce for the next 5 years for around $13M.

No, I have no interest in putting a terrible pitcher in my rotation for the next two seasons and pay him a lot of money.

Bruce has been a dissapointment thus far and wouldn't have a place on the team this season.

I'm basically saying that they can make the trade, cut Bronson and still come out on top. By a lot.

    Re: How about Bronson Arroyo?

no, Bruce would be worth it even if we DFA Arroyo after this year or use him as a reliever but obviously thats not going to happen . espically not when he's on the DL right now with a pretty serious wrist injury.

he had 18 homeruns by late june. the power potential is absurd. there's risk sure but at 17M spread over 3 year and a pitcher thrown in you can take that chance.
    FOR TAIWAN!

Yeah, I didn't see Bruce before in that proposal, prob do it if we did that, however what Bruce is at this point is still unknown. Right now he's a below offensive player.

No thanks on Arroyo, but that pretty harsh. Arroyo actually takes the ball every fifth day and was a pretty solid # 3 up until this season.

Wasnt Snell on suicide watch (seriously) after the Pirates tried to call him up from AAA. Sounds like he had a mental breakdown. Hes the last person I want pitching in NY.

What??? Where did you hear that? I heard a report that he wanted to stay down in AAA (for reasons not clear to me) but he was said to have refuted that claim.

Damn, I guess you're right. Seems like a lot of guys are experiencing anxiety/depression in the ML right now. Grienke, Snell, and I think there was some guy on the Angels maybe who was too? Maybe Oakland?

Arroyo to the yanks?? No thank you. We'd have better chances having Mitre take over CMW's spot
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
