    Best Team: Dodgers
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team: tie between Rangers and Giants
    Biggest Dissapointment Team: Mets

NL MVP: God aka Albert Pujols

    AL Cy: Zack Grienke

    Yanks MVP: Alex

Letter Grade for the Yankees: B

51-37 is alot better then last year. But we've struggled to beat good teams--specifically 2-12 against Boston/LAA. We have to prove we can beat those teams if we wanna win a championship.

    2nd half prediction: Playoff matchups end up being Detroit/Boston, Yanks/Angels, Cards/Dodgers, Giants/Phillies.

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

The Dodgers play in a terrible division in a terrible league. Calling them the best team in baseball would not be right.

    Re: 2009 MLB Progress Reports

Best Team: Dodgers (that's tough, though - every potential answer has some major strikes against them - the Dodgers play in a mediocre division, the Red Sox have major pitching questions, the Yankees have problems with their rotation and haven't shown up against BOS or LAA. I'll go with the Dodgers for now but expect this to be BOS or NYY at the end of the year.)
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team(s): Rangers (I said the Giants could make a run at it this year before the season - no surprise here)
    Biggest Disappointment Team(s): Mets!

League MVP(s): Pujols, Mauer. No questions asked.
League CY(s): Lincecum, Grienke - Felix and Halladay the runners-up in the AL. Lincecum should run away with the Cy this year - his only competition is Haren, IMO.

    Yankees MVP: Mark Teixeira
    Yankees CY: CC Sabathia

Letter grade for the Yankees season so far: A-. For the Wang issues, losing A-Rod for a month+, relying on the 3rd and 4th string catchers for a few weeks, and the spotty bullpen (which hopefully will keep its head above water in the 2nd half), they've played pretty damn good baseball. Biggest marks off for the failures against Boston and LA.

2nd Half Prediction (optional; on any baseball subject): Rangers fall back to Earth, Cubs show a marginal improvement (but still remain a disappointment), Halladay remains in Toronto, and last but not least - CC does his normal second half thing, AJ keeps up the recent hot streak for much (but not all) of the 2nd half, while going on some short cold streaks, and Joba rights the ship and has some great outings (while still not being fully consistent this year).

Best Team: The Dodgers if we're judging by record; the Yankees and Sox if we're judging by strength of competition
    Worst Team: The Nationlols.

Biggest Surprise Team(s): How about those Rockies?
Biggest Disappointment Team(s): I guess the Mets, but they're also missing half their squad. I think the Twins have been quite a disappointment.

League MVP(s): AL is Mauer. NL is Pujols.
League CY(s): AL is Grienke. NL is Tiny Tim.

    Yankees MVP: Big Tex.
    Yankees CY: Mariano Rivera...still dealing.

Letter grade for the Yankees season so far: A-. The only bad mark being that zero-spot against the Sox.

2nd Half Prediction (optional; on any baseball subject): Yankees clinch the AL East. That's all that matters for the regular season anyway.

    Re: 2009 MLB Progress Reports

Best Team: I guess I would have to say the Dodgers since they have the best record. But I think the best team is the Red Sox...sadly.
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team(s): Rangers and the Giants
Biggest Disappointment Team(s): Indians and Cubs (you can't say the Mets, everybody is injured)

League MVP(s): AL: Joe Mauer, NL: Albert Pujols
League CY(s): AL: Zack Grienke NL: I want to say Dan Haren, but he's not going to get the wins, so Tim Lincecum

Yankees MVP: Alex Rodriguez (team went on fire when he came back...)
    Yankees CY: CC Sabathia

Letter grade for the Yankees season so far: B+

2nd Half Prediction (optional; on any baseball subject):
Rays have a huge second half to win the Wild Card, Red Sox collapse because of the Yankees pitching coming together, Dodgers come back to earth, ROY HALLADAY GETS TRADED TO THE BREWERS, Mets make a nice run but still fail to make the playoffs. Playoffs end up being: Rays/Tigers, Yankees/Rangers, Brewers/Giants, Dodgers/Phillies.

Best Team: Red Sox. They have the second best record, behind the Dodgers, who play in the NL West.
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team(s): Dodgers. I don't know how they keep on winning, but they do.
    Biggest Disappointment Team(s): Cubs

    League MVP(s): Pujols and Mauer
    League CY(s): Greinke and Lincecum

Yankees MVP: Not going to answer these, simply because I don't watch enough yankee games to answer objectively.

Why is Greinke such the clear cut choice? He had a 4.05 ERA in June and 3.75 in July. You haven’t noticed those numbers because he made love to your eyes in April and May.

    now thats funny
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

    Re: 2009 MLB Progress Reports

    Best Team: Yankees (I'm biased)
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team(s): It was the Marlins now its the Giants
    Biggest Disappointment Team(s): Cubs

    League MVP(s): Pujols and Mauer
League CY(s): Beckett (sadly) and Lincecum

    Yankees MVP: Teixiera
Yankees CY: Phil Hughes and Aceves

Letter grade for the Yankees season so far: B+ If the bullpen pitched alittle better it would be an A-, also disappointing that we had trouble with Phils, Red Sox, and Angels in 1st half.

2nd Half Prediction (optional; on any baseball subject): Halladay will get traded to the Phillies, and the Cubs will catch fire.

    Best Team: Red Sox
    Worst Team: Nationals

Biggest Surprise Team(s): The Dodgers, for me
Biggest Disappointment Team(s): Mets. Even with the injuries, I think their overall play has been extremely sloppy.

    League MVP(s): Pujols, Mauer
    League CY(s): Greinke, Lincecum

Yankees MVP: Alex Rodriguez. I didn't want to give it to Tex because I feel like he has been extremely streaky at the plate. As for ARod, although his hip has been effecting his play, I think his presence in the lineup really gave this team a boost.
Yankees CY: This is a tough one. CC has been a solid starter for the most part, and we really need that. Burnett has manned up when we needed him to, Aceves has come up big for us and Mo is Mo but I'll give it to CC.

Letter grade for the Yankees season so far: B+

2nd Half Prediction (optional; on any baseball subject): We'll win our first game against the Sox. No, really.

^ this I agree with. It is a race between Roy and Josh. Greinke came out of the gates smoking but since than he has giving up plenty of hits and his ERA will catch up to him.
