I tried the new Kentucky Grilled Chicken. They leave the skin on and then grill it. Considering that the skin is the worst part I cant see how its much better for you.

Oh, and it tastes pretty bad as well.
Maybe they should pull the skin off and then cook it with the secret coating. then it might be decent. Just my 2 cents
I stay away from KFC anyway. It's in a bad neighborhood and the service is equally as unimpressive.
i liked it, and if you dont like chicken skins then you're probably a terrorist or a nazi

This new product will be a huge failure for KFC. People may try it, it may drive sales for a few weeks, but it will be completely off their menu at some point in the relatively near future.

Agreed. If people want to eat healthy they aren't going to think, "Hey, I think I'll look for the low-cal option at KFC!"Originally Posted by Hobbes40

Chick Fil-a is probably the new chicken. KFC is good but they are in the past. However they'll always have Kentucky

I heard they don't even use real chicken at KFC. Is that true? With all these genetically modified foods nowadays I would rather not take a chance.

I just hope they are respectful to the grilling chickens, as they lop their freakin' heads off, boil the piss out of them, and then rip their guts out. That's my main concern.![]()
Thanks for the memories, George. You made the Yankees what they are today... Champions!
The skin is the least of your concerns at that place.Originally Posted by Stanesq

28, here we come!
I've had it an thought it was really good.
The best part of KFC is the skin. Why would they willingly get rid of it? Makes no sense to me! Remember in that one South Park episode when Cartman eats all the KFC chicken skin? That's what I usually do.
I tried the grilled stuff the other day. The grilled skin is awful but the actually chicken part was ok. Of course, if you want good chicken meat I don't see why one would go the KFC route.![]()

False. That myth started out in chain e-mails about 10 years ago.Originally Posted by Octoberbaby

I once worked at a place that sold chicken. The place we bought the chicken from was called Sal Mennella's.

I'm curious about it and love chicken skin. I will give it a try at some point but blech to semi-ho Sandra Lee pimping it out.
When it was new about six weeks ago mostly everybody around me loved it. Or maybe it was that coupon that was going around. Now I find that they are not cooking it with the same love.I ate it because it tasted good. I wouldn't mind having a side of that skin.

We have a place called Pollo Loco near here and they were doing the same promotion when KFC did it. We bought some and also got the two free pieces with the coupon. The free ones were delicious and the ones we paid for were the usual ho-hum quality.Originally Posted by ZYANK

Regis and Kelly had a nationwide BBQ chicken contest last month, and the winner was Giffy's BBQ, which is about 2 miles from where we live. We tried it last week....it was good, not great.....my conclusion is that chicken is chicken.
KFC still draws somewhat around here, but there are plenty of healthy choices for chicken elsewhere. They need to just stay with their unhealthy but tasty recipe that you crave every 3,000 miles when you're down a quart.
Let the kids play.
Chicken drumsticks or thighs won't cook properly on a regular grill, so my solution is to either bake it or fry it regularly until it browns a little and is therefore somewhat "cooked". After this, I would simply brown it even more in the oven or the toaster oven on "broil".
Chicken is the easiest thing you can make, so I have no idea why people are going silly over this stuff. All you need is a lot of chicken, some flour, spices, bread crumbs (or corned flakes), some oil and some heat. Voila.
How'z about that?![]()

I was just commenting on how easy it is to make chicken.Originally Posted by Stupid Flanders
BTW, I was referring to a regular grill pan on the stovetop, not an outdoor grill, the latter of which can be used to grill chicken.

Who in the world would cook chicken on a pan on the stove top? If you're frying it sure, or if you're cutting it up into stir fry.. but cooking it as chiken pieces? I wouldn't do that in a million billion years.Originally Posted by Jersey Yankee

Mebbe Stupid Flanders thought that I was referring to grilling chicken legs on a stovetop grill, when (to clarify), I was saying that only an outdoor grill would work for that.Originally Posted by Bozidar
Only chicken breast or the processed nuggets or chicken bites can be reasonably cooked on a stovetop grill.
