    The Music/Tunes Thread

What are some of your favorite songs?
What have you been listening to lately?
    Anything music can go here.

Each day I'll add some songs I just listening to and I'll rank them using a 1-5 scale; Give them a listen in your library, on YouTube, iTunes, etc. I'm sure everyone knows most of the songs, but it's always fun sharing and finding new music.

Last 5 I've played: (Shuffle on iTunes)

Over and Out - Foo Fighters
All Along The Watchtower - Bob Dylan & The Band
    Wonderwall (Acoustic) - Oasis
    Who's Crying Now - Journey
A Dustland Fairytale - The Killers

I just want to say that I'm really excited for the new Green Day and DMB albums coming out this summer (May and June respectively, I think). Along with the Beatles' collection being re-released, this should be a good season for music.

before disco elton john was absolutely bad*ss. 'tumbleweed connection' is an incredible disc, and i'd probably consider 'amoreena' to be his best song ever.

Red Hot Chilli Pepper's is always a sweet thing to listen to when you just want to chill out, especially "Snow (Hey Oh)".

Right now though I've been listening to some Asher Roth, the song "Fallin'" has been stuck in my head all day.

I have no clue who Asher Roth is, but based solely on his name, he sounds like a complete d-bag.

His album is shockingly good. I figured he would be some pop-flavor of the month rapper, but His Dream and As I Em are frigging great songs. Very deep.

In a recent Rolling Stone, he actually said he likes "I love College" the least because it makes him look too pop-y.

    Here's a couple I just listened to:

Babylon - David Gray (One of my favorites)
Comes and Goes (In Waves) - Greg Laswell
The World Ain't Slowin Down - Ellis Paul

Eventually, I can try to start using Mediafire if people would like and can share some songs as transferable files. Let me know.

Agreed. "Tumbleweed..." along with "Captain Fantastic..." and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" are the three best EJ albums. Although "Honky Chateau" and "Rock of the Westies" have their moments too. Heck, anything he released in the 70s is worth listening to.

My mp3 always has my personal trifecta: Beatles, Elton, Buffett. And then a little Motown thrown in for good measure.

    Re: The Music/Tunes Thread

Ben Harper is great...With My Own Two Hands, When the Drugs Don't Work, Steal My Kisses, Diamonds on the Inside, Walk Away...all wonderful tunes.

Damian Rice (one of the best singer/songwriters to be introduced in a looooong time...his second album "9" is even better than his debut "O" which i thought was intense!)

Jack Johnson - light, happy, easy. I especially like Flake and the cover of the White Stripes tune We Are Going to Be Friends.

White Stripes - how do they get that sound out of just two people??? Seven Nation Army is awesome...to name just one.

Ben Folds (and Ben Folds Five) - great music, great sense of humor. I love Kate, Philosophy, Still Fighting It and The Bitches Aint Sh*t

Steely Dan - a longtime fav of mine, every song is mellow and cool.

"Get By" remix is siiick, glad to see Talib Kweli finally getting some love.
