NCAA Tournament Elite 8 Game Thread

    Missouri-UConn
    Villanova-Pitt

Those are our games for today. I did have Villanova-Pitt in my bracket w/Pitt winning....but I have a feeling Villanova is gonna win this one. They seem to be clicking on all cylinders as a team since the 2nd half of the American game, while Pitt keeps barely winning their games and just doesnt seem to be playing very well.

Missouri and UConn have both been impressive. I picked Memphis out of this region ....I guess I'll go with UConn but I wouldnt be surprised one bit to see Missouri win.

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

I had Pitt over Villanova as well. Sadly they were the only two Elite 8 teams I correctly predicted (I had Memphis, Washington, Wake Forest, Kansas, Syracuse and Gonzaga as well).

I say the same thing Mike.

I also picked Memphis out of the Glendale Region, but they lost to Missouri.

I will be happy with either Mizzou or UConn winning.

As for Pitt vs. Villanova, I also picked Pitt, but Villanova will come out and make it tough for the Panthers.

Thanks to YF 1992, I'm not in last place. FWIW, I still have UNC, UConn and Pitt still alive. If MSU beats Louisville, I will give up watching college hoops. The Big Ten style of play sucks.

    Hopefully Missouri wins this one.

On a side note, if all four 1 seeds make it to the final four, can you imagine how many people are going to pick all four of next year's one seeds to make it to the final four as well?

Unlike the Sweet Sixteen matchups, this IS a great game. I'm on the edge of my seat.

If UConn stops turning the ball over, they'll run away with this in the second half, because Missouri can't play defense.

Yeah it is now, but it wasn't looking that way early on (I realize I was reacting a bit early on).

These referees are terrible. Does anybody else agree with me? Even the announcers were saying how the refs were missing a whole bunch of calls.

UConn have been deadly from the charity stripe.

The UConn Huskies win the West Region. They're in the Final Four as they defeat Missouri 82-75.

So, the Big East will have two teams in the Final Four.

Game of the Tournament so far.

I like to see an Elite Eight game go to OT.

We haven't had an OT in the 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

I thought on the game winning play, the Pitt defense pinned Scottie Reynolds at half court, but a nice baseball pass near mid-court and Reynolds turned on the afterburners.

    What a game.

The Sooners will have their hands full with Ty Lawson, Tyler Hansbrough, and the Tar Heels. Blake Griffin's supporting cast needs to step up.

Will Michigan State and their size advantage derail the Big East's chances of getting their third team in the Final Four?

I have a feeling that Louisville will beat Michigan State rather soundly, but Oklahoma-UNC should be a good one.
