Good thing Memphis didn't get a #1 seed.

Wow, Arizona made it, so six teams for the Pac-10.

And I've already got my 5/12 upset. Arizona over Utah is an easy pick in my opinion.

At least, you have a "home" game Jamie in Portland, OR.

But Mississippi State is not a bad team.

Very true, I do like the Purdue matchup as well. But, I just think Mississippi State is very hot right now, and is probably as talented a 13 seed as you could find.

I'm a Siena grad, and for a small school it's a great achievement getting a No. 9 seed, but it's basically an away game for them and if they pull off the upset they'll have Louisville waiting for them. I was hoping for an 11 or 12 and a chance to get to the Sweet 16, but that ain't happening. Oh well...

Of all the bubble teams, you can make an argument for San Diego State and St. Mary's, but the Aztecs played their way out from the Mountain West.

Penn State, St. Mary's, Creighton, they had top 50 RPI numbers, but bad SOS.

    I disagree.

I think Michigan earned their way in with quality nonconference teams like UCLA and Duke and also wins within their conference Illinois, Minnesota (twice) and Purdue

I definetly think Siena is winning their first game. I follow the MAAC closely and I always see Siena at least once a year in person (when they play at Marist)...and this is by far the best team I've seen come out of the MAAC in years.

Keep in mind...they lost at Kansas by only 7. And at Pitt by only 13...in a game that was within single digits and not decided to the final minutes.

I'm not saying they will go farther then one win, but Louisville will have their hands full in that 2nd round game.

If Siena can, somehow, learn how to shoot free throws, they can make a good showing. Of course, beating Louisville would be a MAJOR upset but, they have the speed and ball handling to handle the press.

Ohio State has a couple of 7 footers.....which doesn't always mean a whole lot, but it's a definate size advantage. I can't see them hanging in there long against Louisville, based on what I saw of them this weekend. Last year when Siena drew a 13 seed and faced Vanderbilt, we knew right away it was a team to be had. Not this year.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't be in. If Oklahoma had a .500 record over the year, it doesn't mean they couldn't beat most teams, but that their resume isn't valid enough.

The committee shouldn't be looking at how talented the team is, or it's historical success (which I think was the reason why they got in this time), they should only be looking at their resume, unless something affects that resume such as an injury to a key player.

Yeah, I was just having fun with TY. AZ probably shouldn't be in, but I do think they have a very good chance to pull an upset in the first round.

Oh for sure, there's no question in my mind that Arizona will win that game.

What has Arizona done this year to make you believe they will "unquestionably" beat a #5 seed?

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

Arizona's a very good team. However, their resume isn't up to snuff with a tournament team, so they shouldn't have made it in. That doesn't prevent them from being good enough to beat Utah.
