Bills sign Terrell Owens to one year deal

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3960653

It didn't take long for T.O. to find a new home.

Terrell Owens has agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to sources.

The Bills called a 6:15 p.m. news conference Saturday to announce the signing. According to a source, the entire contract is guaranteed.

Owens visited the Bills on Saturday. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys late Wednesday.

Good to see T.O hook up with a team this fast. Best of luck to him.

Question is, who is going to throw to him?

His arm has been criticized but he can throw the ball downfield. He doesn't have a cannon arm but he can throw it downfield. He is also very accurate and that'll bode well for TO.

I'm not sure his act will go over well with Bills fans that are used to a more blue collar style of player. The first hint of his disrespecting the team or the city or the fans and he's toast.

This kind of surprises me. Buffalo seems like a run first team. I don't know if T.O. is going to come close to the number of passes thrown his way that he's used to. Also, Buffalo is not exactly a pass friendly place to play come late November/December. Sounds like a recipe for disaster in my opinion and as a Jets fan, that's fine with me.

I don't see any negatives coming out of this. We were a last place team without him so what's the worst that can happen? If things go badly we have a reason to can Jauron and that in itself would be a great thing to many fans. It's a one year deal and he's been very productive in his first year with teams.

TO has been 81 all his NFL career do you think he will take a new number (18) or ask hardy for the 81

I don't see Hardy having a problem giving up the number for a year. T.O won't stay with us past this year so Hardy can have it back next season.

I think its a great deal for the Bills.

Firstly its only 1 year, so if he does cause problems in the dressing room, its over without a penalty next year. Also TO seems to be fine in the first year with a new team.

Secondly, the salary isn't crazy high.

Thirdly, TO will either attract double coverage and free up Lee Evans on passing downs or open up the run a bit more. Should make the Bills more productive on Offense.

Fourthly, the Bills started ok last year and fell away, this could push them over the top. Also how do the Jets, Dolphins & Pats fancy facing Evans and TO twice?

Fifthly, there is a mixed opinion about TO in locker rooms. It seems that the problems are a personality clash with the QB. Trent Edwards isn't a huge personality like McNabb/Romo therefore TO might get the limelight he wants. On the positives TO is actually a leader, therefore could add something to the Bills.

Sixthly, lets the Bills draft on Defence as Offence looks a lot better now.

The acquisition of TO makes me think we could finish second in this division. The Dolphins were a great story last year but is there really anything about them that shows that they can be consistent? As for the Jets, their defense is very good and looks like it could be great but with no real QB and a lack of talent at WR, they may have a long season themselves.

Doesn't matter -- T.O. has complained about every QB he has played with.

Certainly, but he's much better off going to Buffalo than somewhere like Oakland.

Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, and Tony Romo all are big name QBs (Garcia less so than the other two). All three of them have pretty big egos. Edwards is the opposite. He is a good QB who doesn't demand much attention.

The only way I see this working out for Buffalo is if Owens plays this year knowing that this may be his last chance. Even at 35, he's still a dangerous weapon but the fact that he signed relatively quickly after being released by Dallas shows that there were not many teams willing to take a chance on a guy who has been a cancer everywhere he's played.

I don't think that Edwards has done enough to be labeled a good QB, but TO will have to be on good behavior for one year if he wants another contract. He has always been great in year 1.

I'll bet he has at least 2 behavioral incidents with Buffalo this year.
“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.

See the good thing for the Bills in this deal is that it's just one year. He's usually good for the first year then the problems arise.

As long as its just behavioral he will be doing better than Marshawn Inch.

TO has taken number 81, Hardy has been given 84 for this season. Sometimes players have to pay up for the number, Dieon Sanders gave a 3 series BMW to get 21 from Alundis Brice when he moved to Dallas.

Don't know if Hardy's getting anything though.

As a bills fan his play is pretty bad. But hes young and having a ................ty coaching staff teaching him doesnt help. Al;so at Indiana he never had audibles for pass routes in the offense.

I like Hardy, i was jokingly responding to above posters question, "What is Hardy gonna get out of (the TO move)?"

    Hes gonna get yelled at.
