Contest History

Back in 2002 there were two contests (because I was new and noboby really liked me, so I had to drum up business twice). There was the regular contest in which 8 people signed up.
Also in 2002 there was a second contest (a Lite version) and we were able to get 7 people to sign up for that one.


In 2003 we were able to drum up a little more interest, 32 people participated.


Onto 2004 (despite the fact that I was still pretty much universally disliked throughout the Forum) we had a great turnout for the contest - 55 people joined the festivities.


In 2005 (amongst growing disdain for the repulsive organizer of the contest) a record anount of entries to the contest. We nearly broke the 100 mark. Impressive.

In 2006 the contest broke the 100 contestant barrier with 118 final contestants.


In 2007 the contest outgrew JDPNYY's abilities to manage the contest with his limited data collecting skills. EdRuane joined the management team and brought the contest to the space age. We shattered the 100 mark of participants with 154 final contestants.

In 2008 Lou came aboard to save the day at the last minute. He worked tirelessly for days to build a new database for the contest. A beautiful job. We had well over 200 people participate with a final count (after disqualifications) of 193 contestants.

I'm pretty sure we will only count players with enough ABs to qualify for the batting title.
