I was a huge fan of the MVP series before EA lost the baseball license to 2K. I still the last iteration on PS2. That game was better than any of the others out at the time by far, but The Show has made so many improvements over the years it would give EA a run for its money if they were still allowed to make MVP games today.

Some of which have been reported include: wear and tear to the field during the game (not sure if that will affect playing defense, but that would awesome), dusk-to-night atmosphere (hadn't heard anything about rain or snow and if that would affect gameplay), crowd wears different attire depending on the time of the season, use your own music (on PS3) for batter walk-ups, record your own chants and cat calls, new animations, improved fielding, 40-man roster expansion, improved online....

I do not agree with you although I am a big fan of the show. MVP 05 was a perfect game that is still enjoyable today. Although I have MLB 08 the Show for the PS3, I don't think I will ever enjoy a baseball game as much as I did MVP baseball. On the bright side, MLB 08 was great and the graphics were fantastic. I am glad they are expanding the Franchise mode because that is my favorite thig to do in video games.

LOL if that's all it takes then that's your prerogative. I'll do the same thing I did when Ortiz was on the cover a few years ago...Print out a custom cover and slip it in over him.

Does anyone here play 2k instead of the show? I rented both last year and wound up buying 2k. The active pitching was really difficult at first but was much more fun after I got used to it.

Yea 2k was really bad. The frame rate issue was horrible. I can't believe 2k released a game that wasn't finished. They eventually released a fix for it, but not for the PS3, which i own.

Awful is a bit of a stretch. I love player animations as much as gameplay and 2K had very good ones (batting stances/pitching motions) the faces of the players are usually always spot on. The Show just looks to be all about gameplay.

I bought the MLB one in 08 too as I bought 2K7. I am not that good playing these games and the FIRST game I played on the middle difficulty level (first played on the game at all) I was the Yankees and Wang pitched a perfect game with 26 K.

I've read on the OperationSports forums that the game isn't all that it appears to be. The features are there, but the execution is lackluster.

Interesting, I have MLB 2k8 and I guess I play on like the intermediate level, but the game never seems to let me dominate like that, after awhile it starts hitting everything, taking anything outside the zone, and just generally cheezing the crap out of me. I mean I still wind up with lopsided games at times, but it definitely seems to limit my pitching performances.
