Looks really cool. I'll definitely be getting 09, I could never connect to the internet on 08 for some reason and the game always froze up on me so I traded it in.

Even the Sox fan was impressed. I can't wait until April.

The Yankees are getting a new stadium? When did this happen?

I wonder how many extra wins the Yanks will get playing in the new Stadium? Do any of you think that players will have extra incentive to do well in this new setting? I can see Jeter and A-Rod trying to leave their mark with special performances.
One of my favorite games every year. Can't wait!
The Show def beats all the EA baseball games anyday.
Phil Hughes is a starter!
MVP was great..but it is getting outdated..even with the updates and downloads, however best for the pc without a doubt..
Doin' it again in 2010..
Im pretty sure there hasn't been a mlb game by EA sine 05.
Yeah but there are updates that make it the new year since 2005, rosters stadiums, uniforms, player models etc.. although I can't wait for 09

The last MVP featuring MLB players was voted as the best sports game of its year, beating out Madden and any of NBA games. In fact, I still play the last edition of MVP.Originally Posted by a-RobinsonCano-Fan

I just hope The Show has some way of carrying over my created guy. I'd hate to have to start over again.

I was a huge fan of the MVP series before EA lost the baseball license to 2K. I still the last iteration on PS2. That game was better than any of the others out at the time by far, but The Show has made so many improvements over the years it would give EA a run for its money if they were still allowed to make MVP games today.Originally Posted by Norge
You probably will have to do it again, and now you'll get to hear something along the lines of "the first season in the brand new YS" for every home game you have. But there's supposed to be some pretty nice additions to the gameplay and graphics this year, as would be expected. Some of which have been reported include: wear and tear to the field during the game (not sure if that will affect playing defense, but that would awesome), dusk-to-night atmosphere (hadn't heard anything about rain or snow and if that would affect gameplay), crowd wears different attire depending on the time of the season, use your own music (on PS3) for batter walk-ups, record your own chants and cat calls, new animations, improved fielding, 40-man roster expansion, improved online....Originally Posted by NewEraYanks2527

All I have to say is that they need to fix Curve's in the dirt being turned into passed balls so much
I do not agree with you although I am a big fan of the show. MVP 05 was a perfect game that is still enjoyable today. Although I have MLB 08 the Show for the PS3, I don't think I will ever enjoy a baseball game as much as I did MVP baseball. On the bright side, MLB 08 was great and the graphics were fantastic. I am glad they are expanding the Franchise mode because that is my favorite thig to do in video games.Originally Posted by a-RobinsonCano-Fan
Anybody know where i can see this leaked video. I clicked the link but the video is no longer available on Youtube.
When is 09 The Show released? March?
"I see Jesus Montero as a potential once-in-a-generation force on offense."
With Pedroia on the cover and the fact I probably have to star tall over in RTS I think I'll keep the 60 bucks and keep playing 08.Originally Posted by bigjf

LOL if that's all it takes then that's your prerogative. I'll do the same thing I did when Ortiz was on the cover a few years ago...Print out a custom cover and slip it in over him.Originally Posted by NewEraYanks2527

Pretty Cool, can't wait for opening day!
Does anyone here play 2k instead of the show? I rented both last year and wound up buying 2k. The active pitching was really difficult at first but was much more fun after I got used to it.
2k was awful

Please elaborate. Neither was as good as I had hoped.Originally Posted by destro
Yea 2k was really bad. The frame rate issue was horrible. I can't believe 2k released a game that wasn't finished. They eventually released a fix for it, but not for the PS3, which i own.
Awful is a bit of a stretch. I love player animations as much as gameplay and 2K had very good ones (batting stances/pitching motions) the faces of the players are usually always spot on. The Show just looks to be all about gameplay.

Anyone out there interested in 2k's front office manager. Out today 1/27.
Curious if there was any feedback.
MVP 05 is probably the game I have played more than any other. I like the show series a lot, my biggest complaint is the baserunning system.
Oh and 2k8 was absolute trash, I acually bet it in a poker game as a joke and some sucker took it.
LOL

I bought the MLB one in 08 too as I bought 2K7. I am not that good playing these games and the FIRST game I played on the middle difficulty level (first played on the game at all) I was the Yankees and Wang pitched a perfect game with 26 K.Originally Posted by bnorris85

Since then I've always bought the Show.
At the end of one of my seasons in that game I had a pitcher (Custom player I named after my brother) that was something along the lines of 36-0, 535k, .87 ERA, .60 WHIP.Originally Posted by rpbri2886

I've read on the OperationSports forums that the game isn't all that it appears to be. The features are there, but the execution is lackluster.Originally Posted by YankeeMax

Interesting, I have MLB 2k8 and I guess I play on like the intermediate level, but the game never seems to let me dominate like that, after awhile it starts hitting everything, taking anything outside the zone, and just generally cheezing the crap out of me. I mean I still wind up with lopsided games at times, but it definitely seems to limit my pitching performances.

Actually it was the Show I got as well. Are they releasing it for PS2 this year or am I going to have to break down and buy the PS3?Originally Posted by rpbri2886

If they ask who was our star, give them twenty five names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.
If you guys didn't know, the demo fro MLB 09 the show comes out today. I don't know the exact time, but I've heard 6 pm EST.
