Am I the only one who finds it odd that night games never start at night in this game?

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the game transitions to night quicker during April games than in June. As for whether any game actually starts with a full night sky, I haven't seen it yet.

My biggest peeve of this game is the fact they actually have a audio clip of Hawk Harrelson and his braindead home run call.

I love the randomness of the pitching in this game. Beckett dominated me the first time we met and in my last game he was all over the place.

I played out the Burnett/Halladay scenario in Toronto tonight, with the results being a bit more to my liking. Again, pure pitching duel the whole way. 1-0 Jays into the 7th, when Halladay (with 9 strikeouts) started to falter and made some mistakes, and the bullpen comes in and gets him out of trouble. In the 8th, A-Rod and Cano went a back-to-back and a belly-to-belly to take a 2-1 lead, and Burnett (7 strikeouts, 98 pitches) went 8.2 innings before Mariano came in with the tying run on 3rd to finish it off with a strikeout on a 2-2 count. I tried letting Burnett finish it, but I thought better of it. Fun game!

just a qestion regarding the game. can you choose a player "like a-rod" and only play him?
Chris Nolan did it again. Inception is the best movie of the year so far.

Actually no, I'm pretty sure you can't do that. Road to the Show forces you to create your own player, and there aren't any modes yet that allow you to play as one player and date Madonna.

hehe...so you have to create a own player to play this way. it's still nice.

So...why do my runners at 3B always seem to take off for home while I'm in the middle of an AB? I'm not sure if I'm pressing a button without realizing it, but its annoying as balls.

You're probably hitting L2 on accident. That makes all runners take off for a steal.

I finally learned how to steal from 1st to second with runners on the corners. You have to push the left stick to the right then hit triangle. Now I can stay out of some double plays. (Which I hit into too many times in this game)

anybody else notice that outfielders tend to throwout runners going first to third with a little too much frequency? that should be tweaked, either OF accuracy should be dinged, or the AI needs enhancement so that it runs itself out of rallies iwth a little less frequency.

or maybe it's because i'm playing in ROOKIE mode.

I finally am starting to lay off of pitches outside the strike zone, but i've learned two things recently: 1) it is impossible to beat the Rays at the Trop and 2) Mo has horrible control in this game. I've brought him into two save situations, and he's given up at least a run each time.

I don't know about that first point, but we've had this discussion about Mariano before. Are you walking guys left and right with him? Because I find that Rivera has the best control in the game. I can literally spot the ball anywhere I want with him, so I don't really get how people are struggling with him.

I've actually been giving up a lot of hits with him...his cutter either misses away or ends up right over the plate for some reason.

How do you get good jumps when trying to steal? I take a slim lead and just mash L2 in hopes of getting lucky and sometimes I get great jumps and swipe the bag easily..and other times I don't take off running until the pitcher throws the ball.

Try timing your jump and hit L2 you see the pitcher move . I was having a really rough time stealing before I started timing it. I also have found it's easier to steal when you don't take a lead. Sounds crazy but it works for me.

Try mixing it in a bit better to lefties, and also mix high and low on location. Throw a 2-seam every so often too. If guys are sitting on the cutter, chances are it will get hit.

The greatest thing happened to my RTTS pitcher last night. After being stuck for 4 straight seasons on the Pirates and winning back to back CY Youngs, they decided to decline arbitration to him, because they didn't want to pay him 20 mil plus.

He ended up signing with the Phillies who won 108 games the previous season and now has a 1-4 of Utley, Longoria, Josh Hamilton and Howard, and a rotation of my pitcher, Brandon Webb, Hamels, Halladay and Myers. If this team doesn't win a 120 games, I'll be disappointed.

Finally got my PS3 back & I re-did my player. He's a closer with a 4 seam FB, sweeping curve, & changeup. I got drafted by Detroit & have been relegated to middle relief/mopup duty. =/

I made "myself" and maxed my stats for franchise mode. 22 year old CF for the Yankees, just hit his 250th home run
