The new one will adorn the left side of the team's caps during the regular season. This patch celebrates the first season of Citi Field. The arches of the rotunda of Citi Field are depicted.
The other, to be worn on uniform sleeves, is the basic Citi Field patch.
You had a patch that was pretty universally derided as being dumb looking. You went to the trouble of creating another one, and a perfectly good one at that. And you decide not to use that new, nice one for everything, but will instead keep the first, dumb one for the jerseys? That's really dumb.
