    Moose Fan Appreciation Dinner

Saturday was the 16th annual Mike Mussina Fan Appreciation Dinner. I'll post more about it later, but this is a clip of him doing the "Dumbest Questions" list. You can't see him, but his brother Mark is seated to the left. Enjoy.

I gave it to him before the dinner started, while people were going up and looking at the stuff he had on display..I had put the old version on here in the earlier post, here is the one I actually gave moose, except for the one i got signed was in b/w since his auto showed up better.

How long did you work on it? Looks like you put in a lot of time.

As soon as I get my photos loaded, I want to post a pic of the glove he gave me. I'm still in a state of shock. I've wanted one for so many years, I can't believe it's really mine.

Very cool! I love the sly inclusion of the crossword puzzle and the Giambi 'stache. Only thing missing was the point at Torre, "No! Stay there!!!".

Awesome artwork! I love the fact that you included a glimpse of him with his son after the final game at the Stadium.

She's the tall one. I took advantage of that by hiding behind her during the glove presentation. Thanks for sharing your pictures of that presentation!

Here's a picture of the game issued (but never used) glove Mike gave to me:

Sorry, that one's untrue. He did, however, raffle off a baseball autographed by Rivera.

Ditto on sharing your photos. Neither Shel or me remembers exactly what we said or did when we realized he was presenting each of us with one of his gloves, so seeing pictures helps put the pieces together. Now I think I know what an out of body experience feels like.

I'm really glad you got you artwork autographed - if you aren't a professional artist, you should be!
Sorry, that one's untrue. He did, however, raffle off a baseball autographed by Rivera.
Yeah - and his brother was "complaining" because he didn't even have one. Mike told him to get a ticket. (It was a door prize).

That evening was the best! The 20 dumbest questions made me laugh so hard. And the way he looked at the audience with that deadpan Mike look was hysterical.

That was pretty funny. Especially when Mike told him to get a ticket if he wanted a signed Mariano ball.

Vicki - I'm glad your camera was working this year! Your son looks like he's not quite sure he's really sitting nex to Mike. He must have told anybody who'd listen to him about the whole thing.

Thanks Doris! Actually I think my friend took that picture! What a fabulous evening that was. I think my son was being a little shy.

He has mentioned Mike's kids several times and really got a kick out of the little one with the Parker jersey. His kids are adorable. Four-ZEEEERO-nine.....

The youngest one is Peyton. He's changed teams....a few years ago, he was wearing a Cowboys jersey. Since I'm a Steelers fan (love Polamalu), I gave him a little "high 5" for wearing it.

I've got some photos to post if I ever get around to scanning them.

I saw that chair when they brought it in through the lobby and I didn't get to sit in it either.

BTW - just a little bit of t-shirt trivia.....Mike never lost a game when he wore the Captain America t-shirt to the stadium. I started to ask him why he wore the other ones, but I knew that was asking for trouble.

I did, but it's different than this one. It all started with the "Chico's Bail Bonds" t-shirt several years ago. He said a long time ago that if MLB players ever had to have sponsor logos on their uniforms like NASCAR drivers, he'd wear "Chico's Bail Bonds" (from the movie Bad News Bears). I finally found one and gave it to him at one of the dinners.

This is the second one I gave him at a Meet & Greet. It says, "Give Us This Day Our Daily Puzzle".

Thanks, Doris, for posting my pictures! These are two of the shots I took at the dinner. Mike may or may not have been talking about his retirement in that second shot...by then, he was done reading the "dumbest" questions and was just answering questions from fans.

I have a few other shots from this dinner posted HERE, if anyone wants to take a look. Most are pretty similar to these -- shots of Mike at the podium. My photos from the 2008 Yankee Stadium Meet & Greet are HERE, and my photos from the 2008 Baltimore Meet & Greet are HERE. Feel free to take a peek at them.

Thanks - I'll work on it and they'll all be my photos of Mike. I had these on a CD and forgot to indicate credits.

I'm glad you got closer shots of the Wheaties box. I cannot believe I forgot to take a photo of it before the dinner. Also some great photos of Mark and Mike. Thanks for sharing.
