    Haha, the Cardinals...

I kinda want to see them go all the way.

I just posted this in the AFC championship thread, but I think the Steelers are going to be bigger favorites against the Cardinals than the Patriots were last year against the Giants. The Cardinals are going to get absolutely no respect.

More rooting against the Steelers (I still have nightmares about Franco Harris and the "immaculate reception") than rooting for the Cardinals.

    Go Cardinals!

So torn. Would like to see the Steelers lose, but I also don't want to see a Super Bowl champ bad enough to lose by 40 to a non-playoff team in December.

Let's Go Cardinals! (I keeping thinking of Deadspin and "The Buzzsaw that is the Arizona Cardinals" )

I have tons of Steeler-fan relatives, but in this case, ya just gotta love Fitz and the underdogs .

Hard to root against Warner, but at the same time this matchup brings little interest.

I don't think so. I always enjoy watching good defence. And I'm pretty interested in watching how Warner and Fitzgerald face that kind of defence.

Re: Super Bowl XLIII: Cardinals vs. Steelers

Rooting for the Steelers; but I think the Cardinals have a good enough offense to stay in the game and possibly pull it out late. The only question will be if the O-Line for the Cards can hold up to the onslaught of Pitts defense.

The Steelers are good enough to jump the short crossing routes when blitzing and Polamalu is a force all to himself.

    That said;

28-13 Steelers; Warner ends with 4 INT.

Time for my friend to grow his third annual Super Bowl Beard - where he refuses to shave between the Championships and the Super Bowl to protest the fact that there's a two week wait now instead of the traditional one.

There is absolutely no way that Pittsburgh wins this game by 25. No way.

Leave Fitzgerald on the field by himself and he'd keep it closer than that.

Good for Arizona making it thus far. No one expected them to be here. Good job by Wisenhunt.

Now, time to lose. Enough of this Cindarella run already.

The Cardinals franchise has the second longest championship drought in the major 4 sports, at 61 years. The last time they won the championship was in 1947 as the Chicago Cardinals.

Let's talk about what the Superbowl is really all about:

    Opening Line:

    Steelers -7

    O/U 47

    Place your bets.

    I'm going Steelers and Under.

I wish that they would have only one week between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. I really hate the hype buildup. Sports radio is almost unlistenable during this two week period. Except for last year when the Giants were in it.

I'll be rooting for the Cardinals, but my brain says that the Steelers will win by at least 10.

As a fan watching from afar, I sort of agree with you. But one good thing about the extra week is that it helps the teams recover if they're banged up, which should give a better game and "truer" result.

Another thing, though, is that it makes it a lot easier to handle travel plans if you're thinking about going to the game.

I feel the same way about the two weeks off before the game. On the other hand, it does benefit players who are banged up. I'm rooting for the Cards also. On paper, the Steelers look unstoppable due to their defense, but if the Cards can protect Warner, Phoenix has a shot.

CNBC has confirmed that "Rod Tidwell" himself will be at the Super Bowl as his Arizona Cardinals play in the game for the first time.

Re: Super Bowl XLIII: Cardinals vs. Steelers

In terms of historical significance, Super Bowl XLIII will match up the two franchises that merged into one for the 1944 season. This is because the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Cardinals had lost many players due to military service for World War II. The merged team was known as "Card-Pitt" and finished with a perfect record: 0-10.
