Yes we have a young QB but look at what the Falcons did with their young QB last year. And I like the Jets roster better than Atlanta's from last year. The way Rex Ryan coaches, those close games that the Jets would always blow to teams we thought they should beat (especially under Herm) won't happen as much.

Eh, I really don't see it as much. The whole point of twitter for these guys is to communicate with their fans. He made it clear as day that the most important thing was that the Jets won. And I'll say this as someone that could care less about Clowney. Not sure what being a man has to do with it by the way.

And nobody "hassled" Ryan/Schot about it. Hell nobody even knew about it until the guy got suspended. Half of Jets fans have no idea who David Clowney even is.

The point of twitter is to make money for itself (which it actually doesn't do yet, even though its valued at $1 billion). What the players use it for is what they want to use it for... I'm sure the teams would rather the players didn't discuss team plans with fans, twitter or otherwise

"Being a man" about it is a figure of speech, its not complicated. Its like if your roommate annoys you and you twitter about it so other people know instead of just taking it up with him. The media hassles coaches for this kind of thing because they will take anything that they can make a story. This happens all the time when players post dumb stuff on twitter. I realize with Clowney its not a big story, but its the principal of the matter. It would be a bigger deal if Kellen Clemens did it or something, creating some kind of media-driven QB controversy

i realize this isn't a big deal, but you shouldnt post stuff like that on twitter. i wouldnt allow it all as a coach if i had any control

Weird. This morning ESPN radio had Lito starting and Strickland out.

Having both out is going to make it very difficult to contain Brees.

I'll be thoroughly impressed if the Jets win this game, particularly with Lito, Strickland [and Pace] still out. Although, that wouldn't be the first time it's happened this season.

I'm confident in this team, but I have to say, as long as the Jets beat the Dolphins and are 4-1 after five games, I'll be ecstatic.

You cannot stare down a receiver like that. Rookie QB's make rookie mistakes. Gotten away with some bad throws in a few games but that is a huge one there.

Yeah I thought we had about a 5% chance of winning this game coming in. It's too much to expect the kid to be able to play a great game in the SuperDome.

    Same here.

I was thinking of a 27-21 type loss. Now I want to see some resiliency and don't let it get out of hand.

You will have games like this with rookie QB's. Especially against good teams. Its a learning experience.

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075

And he fumbles for the TD.

Horrific performance today and completely deflates the team after an exceptional defensive stand.

Cant say enough about the defense. Midway thru the 3rd....against the best offense in the league in their home stadium....and they've allowed 3 points. Amazing job so far.

Ah. Totally agree. Ugly play call.

I thought you meant it was a terrible decision not to punt on 4th and 1 in there own territory. That, I would not have agreed with.

These Saints corners are cheating and sitting on these slants/5 yard patterns. We need to do some out and ups and go deep or something.....make them pay for jumping these short routes.

Oh well. As I said earlier, you will have games like this w/rookie QB's. Take away his mistakes, and its a 10-10 game. He will learn from this and get better. Move on and get ready for Miami next week.

Sanchez will hopefully learn his lesson and not dance around in the end zone anymore. The intos will happen but giving up a fumble in the end zone is a mistake that shouldn't happen more than once. The defense is simply awesome...Ryan is creating a culture for this team that will bring years of good seasons to come.

I'm like a broken record, but I still can't believe I'm seeing a Jet team playing this kind of defense. I never thought I'd see it in my life.

This season has been great so far, despite yesterday, but I don't think we can accomplish our ultimate goal with our QB situation. My hope is that this year continues to be great, then we get a big time WR, Sanchez shows huge improvement in his second year (especially with his ball handling), and the defense doesn't regress.

Looking at our schedule coming up, we could definitely be 8-1 going into New England in week 10. Of course, that's only if Sanchez doesn't have another game like yesterdays, which was pretty atrocious.

I think the media and some fans are being way too hard on Sanchez. Did people expect the team to go 16-0 and Sanchez to be flawless all year? Come on.

He's a friggin rookie and it was his first game playing against a good defense in a tough atmosphere for a guy making his 4th career start. Give him a break. Rookie QB's will have bad games like this---they are kind of like young pitchers--its all part of the learning experience and maturing. Find me a QB who didnt suffer these types of games as a rookie.

About an hour after the game, I had about 3 "conversations" with people saying how overrated the Jets' D is & how Sanchez sucks. Their kind of stupid was legendary.

Right holding Brees and Co. to 10 points constitutes overrated.

Yeah they weren't hearing it. I just gave up after a while. They were the kind of people where if they said 2 + 2 = 6...it's 6. There's no winning the argument.
