Very nice win by the Jets.

Congrats Jets. You won your Super Bowl in week 2. Now sit back and watch real contenders play for the real Super Bowl.

They've done more than we have so far, so I wouldn't talk trash just yet.

    See you guys in February.

Hard fought game, which is just what I expected.

Pats O sucked, Jets O was decent.

Pats D was good, Jets D was excellent.

    Congrats.

Again, they've had 4 good seasons in 50 years. They don't have their own stadium. They said themselves this was their Super Bowl. Way to aim low.

The Giants are the class of the Meadowlands and despite today, the Pats are the class of the AFC East.

Jets looked great today man and like Jamie said, they've proven more and looked better than we have so far.

Really impressive performance by the Jets D. Got pressure on Brady all day and Revis completely shut down Moss.

I've always hated the Jets. I just see no use for them in a city with as rich football history as the Giants.

The Jets called this game their Super Bowl. They are so over excited for a September game its embarrasing. I guess you all know how the season will turn after Thanksgiving (3-6) so gotta enjoy it now.

Wow you are really looking like a jealous ........ Take the loss and show some class instead of crying in the Jets thread like a cry baby.

Want to put some money on that 3-6 record by Thanksgiving? I doubt it.

Seriously, I really dislike when Pats* fans on this site act like Jets fans aren't allowed to be happy about our team/wins. It's really obnoxious. The Jets look good this year. They have potential to be a good team. Why shouldn't we be allowed to enjoy it? It's rude and it's trolling. Rhody, you are better than this.

As for the Giants, there is ZERO rivalry between the Jets/Giants. ZERO. I like the Giants and I root for them and there are several Giants fans in this thread who rooted for the Jets today. There is no animosity between the fanbases (at least, I personally have yet to see any).

I'm definitely pretty impressed with Sanchez, he operates very well on the run, that was a big contrast with the basically-immobile Brady today. Would have had another touchdown if Stuckey wasnt a 2nd rate receiver. His decisions generally seem more intelligent than the average rookie qb

Impressed with Sanchez today. Looked very comfortable in the pocket. I see a little Roth-Man in him. again congrats guys I know it wasn`t a must win but it sent a message to the Pats.

You make excellent points. Whether Pats fans want to admit it or not....the Jets simply OUTPLAYED the Pats today. And our QB OUTPLAYED the infallible Brady. Brady was under pressure all day long, and made alot of bad throws off balance due to the pressure. Credit the Jets D. Credit Ryan for calling an aggressive game. Credit Revis for totally eliminating Moss. Credit Strickland for stepping in for an injured Sheppard and playing very well.

The Jets D simply got the Pats offense out of whack and shut them down. Period. End of story. No excuses. Pats fans will whine about injuries but I dont wanna hear that sh*t.

And I also root for the Giants. I consider myself a fan of both teams really....the only situation I dont root for the Giants is when they play the Jets. There is no rivalry between the two teams.

I missed this whole game due to a wedding (both attending and watching.) I'm very happy with the result. When you can fumble the ball away inside your 20, have a weak offensive first half, and still beat a team like New England, it shows that your team might actually have a chance to be the real deal. I really hope it's not just a tease this year. I'm loving what I'm seeing and hearing thus far, though.

I`ll admit last here up in Montreal all the Jets Fans came out of the wood work and got really annoying in the Pub at mid-season. All they talked about was a Jet-Giants Super Bowl. But from what I`ve seen there`s some potiential here. Yeah it`s too early but a 2-0 start is a good thing and beating the Pats is something they can build on............tough division to be in also. It won`t be easy but who knows....maybe just maybe the Pats are on a down swing. I won`t hold my breath but good win for the Jets and their fans.....

The Jets might have been a SB team last year if Favre doesnt get injured. Thats really what killed their season.

Was very impressed with Sanchez in the second half. And I absolutely loved that the Jets just kept coming after Brady on the Pats final 2 drives. Outstanding

You're acting like quite a loser, dude. I love how people think they are superior because they root for a team that has had more success - like that has anything to do with them personally. It's pathetic. And it's probably no coincidence that these are the same people that when their team loses a game they thought they would win, they decide not to discuss the game and instead go into a teams history or something lame like that. At least your a step up over the guy who talked trash throughout the entire 2007 season to disappear after the Patsies lost in the SB... Way to go!

Anyways, I was at this game and it was a fantastic atmosphere. The crowd was into it from the beginning and was as loud as I've ever heard every time we were on defense. It was truly deafening and had an obvious effect on the Patsies and Brady. Very fun game to attend for sure.

I think best of all this defense has given up 3 legitimate points all season long. Obviously the only TD came on a pick 6, and 6 of the Patsies points today came because of the refs on two horrible calls (especially the Bart PF) and the Leon fumble - which probably wasn't but it is true there was no disputable evidence to the contrary.

I don't want to get too crazy about this season yet. It's still very early and we still have a rookie QB leading the way, but there's a lot to be positive about, and this defense is for real. I can't wait until Pace gets back. Oh and Strickland looked real good before he got hurt. By the way, did Gholston even play in this game? I can't remember seeing him once.
“I mean, people knew that Brown was out there, and that Randy was ornery all the time. And Pavano is whoever he is. But if you’re their manager, you can’t go out and write about them like that.

The defense is amazing. I actually *almost* enjoy watching them play more than the offense.
238 more runs to score 1000.

Taylor, I believe Gholston was on the field for at least one play. He's a joke. If Ryan can't fix that guy, no one can. I've written him off.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Darrelle Revis may be the best cornerback in the entire NFL.

I think Gholston has improved this year and played pretty well in the preseason and pretty well in that first game. In this game I just don't think he was on the field much. Either way, I'm not giving up on him just yet. And yes, there's no other CB I'd rather have than Revis.

Revis is my favorite player on the team and he may soon be the best CB in the league, but at this point I'd say he's 3rd behind Asomugha and Bailey. Assante Samuel is right there as well.
"I see Jesus Montero as a potential once-in-a-generation force on offense."

The only thing I hate is how Sanchez is being billed as the next Joe Namath. Namath is the most overrated player in the NFL Hall of Fame and if I am a Jets fan I'd hope he ends up being a lot better than Broadway Joe.

EDIT to add: Why are the Pats still the class of the AFC East Rhody?

Got to sit in the first row at the game today and I actually spoke to Woody Johnson. He knew the guy next to me and let his kid get credentials to stand on the sidelines after half time. It must be nice to have that kind of pull!

Joe Namath gave us our only SB which is why it's going to happen. But he is overrated and I do think Sanchez will be better. Boomer Esiason certainly thinks so (actually he's so confident in Sanchez that he makes it sound like he knows so).

I work for the NFL and take pictures at some Jets game and actually rode up the elevator with Woody and his kid (and a ton of other people) before the game today. Didn't speak to him though, but it was better than last year when I was asked to wait until the next elevator came because Woody was going on the first one.

How is Namath overrated? People have to remember how the QB position was played back in that era...especially the AFL. There was no West Coast offense...QB's didnt dink and dunk there way down the field. No "Chad Pennington" routes.

Namath aired that sucker down the field all the time. And so did many QB's of that era. This is why there completion % was much lower then today's QB's and why they also threw more INT's. More deep passes...much more risk taking.

    Jesus Montero since June 1 (286 at-bats):
    .325/.386/.605/.991
    July 1 (182 at-bats):
    .348/.417/.658/1.075
