Cool
Who was he?
-Lou ~ 27 (on to 28 in 2010)
Cacciatore/Fungaiolo/Juventus FC/Go Habs/Azzurri/Giro d'Italia

Not completely sure about this, but he may be the Yankees' highest winning percentage pitcher. At worse maybe top three. Also sparkled for the Yankees in World Series action.Originally Posted by Tifoso
Add what he did there to his regular season stats ... winning percentage is right about .712!

Actually several years ago we couldn't figure out who that player was next to Lou Gehrig...
It's a bit of an angle and the aspect ratio seems a bit askew so we couldn't find a slam dunk match...
I was perusing EBAY today and came across Monte Pearsons card which seems to have utilized the same photo...
Couldn't believe my eyes...

Looks like the direction that his eyes were pointing was doctored, but otherwise the photo looks identical.

A guy who couldn't get the ball over the plate, but who was a pretty good pitcher.Originally Posted by Tifoso

Also one of 10 Yankee pitchers who have pitched no-hitters.
Thankyou for seconding that, Mitch. Awesome that you found it. But you're about a year late.
Now you have to work on identifying the misidentified Boardwalk Brown (or did you ever solve that one?)!
