A Pitcher With 12 Strikeouts In A Game His Team Scored 20 Runs

That's what Phil Hughes did in AAA tonight. How many times has it happened in MLB history?

By the way Hughes only pitched five innings and giving up four hits and four walks (too many)

It hasn't happened at least since 1956. Early Wynn of the White Sox struck out 9 Red Sox in a 21-7 win back in 1960. That is the most since 1956.

Good news, trade him now that he has regained a bit of value before he stinks out the joint at the MLB level again, Hughes and Cabrera for Holliday sounds just about right to me.

Too many however, a couple people at the game were saying Hughes was getting squeezed at times.

Great idea. Then let's sign Dave Winfield to a 10-year contract and make the return to the 80s official.
