Will There Be a Rookie Hazing This Year?

Well, its something I look forward to ever year. The Final home game before the final road trip, after the game, the Yankees veteran players take the clothes of the rookies on the team and put a costume that they must wear to the airport. Now, with this season on the brink of failure and the final game before the final road trip being the last game at the Stadium, do you think it will happen this year? It didnt happen in 1996 because the Yankees were in the thick of a race and didnt want to break any concentration, which is why it never happened to Jeter. But for some reason, as much as I want to see it happening, I cant. Too much is going to be happening. Im sure some may be emotional over the fact that it could be the final ball game ever played there. Or they could be too depressed that they may be out of the race by then. Anyone have any opinions?

I don't even care this year. I think hazing will still happen, though.

I'd imagine it will happen before the final series - they won't do it after the last game at YS though.

    They should re-haze Cano.

For the hazing this year, all rookie hitters will be asked to hit with runners in scoring position.

The team should be so pissed off, they're going to start rookie bitch slappings.

Jeter needs to get hazed at some point. It's not fair he got skipped.

As for this year, they should make them wear minor league unis from other teams, but that would be more appropriate for IPK and Melky. Guys like Coke and Aceves look good so far. My guess is there won't be a hazing this season.

    Haze the entire roster.

Ditto. The fans should do it. And smiling isn't allowed.

The hazing is only funny when the team is about to go to the playoffs.

I nearly sprayed my monitor with Pepsi when I read this. Great stuff.

The players' union would never stand for it.

I was wondering this very thing myself. I know the players usually stay after and sign auto's, but seeing as its a night game does anyone think they will be signing after an 8 PM game?

This is silly. Of course they will haze rookies. Coke, Aceves, Robertson, Gardner, Christian and possibly Miranda will be in funny outfits. Did I miss anyone? These are the guys who made/will make their mlb debuts in 08.
