I remember the first time I heard the 'Hot Buttered Soul' album at a party in college. 'Walk on By' seemed to go on forever & ever & ever...So innovative for it's time.
'By the Time I Get to Phoenix" ...originally recorded by Glen Campbell...took on a whole different groove to appeal to R&B fans.
'Theme from Shaft' is probably his most popular/known...but do yourself a favor. Listen to 'Hot Buttered Soul' cuts to experience the 'soul' of the man.
